Ended up watching this just a couple minutes ago. This was awesome! It sounds like @SierraTerence and Byron are going to be doing this more often, which is exciting. Will be looking forward to the next tasting.

I don't think you have to have a FB account to watch on FB...

Yes, we will be doing this weekly, so we should be on tomorrow. Some will be virtual tastings, some just shooting the shit and others with themes. We were talking about moving it to Thursday, starting next week. I also might be throwing a few Tuesday evening versions.

    Stay safe everyone.

Perfect timing, walked in the grocery store today and they had SNPA with good dates and I grabbed a six pack.

I reckon that's a great way to keep in touch!

I participated in one yesterday that Oskar Blues put on.

A Big Foot vertical would be dynamite.

Sorry everyone... I haven't been checking in much these days. I love the idea on a Bigfoot vertical mentioned above. I know Byron would be down with that idea. I'll look at fitting that in. It would be good timing if and when we post some older Bigfoot years on our e-commerce page. I know that we can't ship outside CA and NC at this time, but it would allow an opportunity for people to grab some of the years we have available in our cellar.

We are moving the show to tonight. So going forward we should be running Thursdays at 4pm PST. I will also occasionally be doing a Tuesday ~5pm PST solo show with people outside the beer industry. Starting with musician and hopefully move on from there...

Tonight 4/16 @ 4 pm PST: Sierra Nevada Live with Charlie Bamforth

Not confirmed 100% yet, Thursday 4/23 @ 4 pm PST: Zappa Hop (guest to be announced)

Wow, that would be really cool if you released some other years...I'm in MA, but still really cool.

During the pandemic I've wanted to do a vertical with my roommate to clear out some older vintages I have. Typically when I do this though I have at least three people. Right now I have two people.

I have 6 different vintages I want to do a vertical with. How would you split it up among two of you? I was thinking 3 on one night, 3 on another.

    It's a weird vertical though, 2011 - 2015, and then a 2020.

I'd prefer not to do it all in one night, that's three Bigfoots each. And also, even though they're older, there's still a fair amount of hop zip to them in my experience. Palate fatigue would set in...

    Thanks!

Nice, three a night would be your best bet. Pay attention to that 2012, in my option it has tasted best in the verticals I have done over the last year or two.

Here is a list of what we have in our stash. We have a lot of some years because originally we were going to release a series of vertical six-packs, then the market changed and we had a shit-load of vintage Bigfoot, our sales team and distributors would struggle to sell. Yes, we could sell some to all of you but that would cover what we have :grimacing:.

E-commerce is a great window. It would attract beer enthusiast and encourage those that purchased older years to go out and buy the current year from our distributor and retails (we will not be selling any core distributed beer on our e-commerce page to respect the three tiered system).

    2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 (?), 2016

    ISO 2012

Thanks for the vertical tip, and the tip on 2012.

Had a 2020 this past Sunday. I loved this year's, how did you like it?

I thought it was really good... I think it will age nicely. The bitterness and alcohol balance was nice... No real boozy, higher alcohol sting that beer gets some years.

Did a barley wine tasting a few years ago, at the finish he brought out 2011 thru 2017, and I found the 2012 to be the sweet spot, with 2013 running a close second.
