Dear Sierra Nevada, please stop sealing your awesome organic beers with wax. That is all.

I almost chopped off my thumb opening DevESTATEtion tonight. For some reason there was no 'ripcord'. I believe I had a similar issue with Estate in the past as well.

You have been a BA longer than many. You have only spoken up 3 times.
I'm getting the impression you're serious about this wax thing.

That's a very good point. To be honest I log on to the site daily but basically just read posts about new beers that I should go try. I don't know why I was so inspired last night, probably because I drank the DevESTATEtion with dinner.

One of the most annoying things in beer is a wax top without a ripcord to help open it. I'm not trying to handle knives when I'm drinking, Dang it.

It took a group of 4 people to get mine open

Boo to wax. Also, those dumb foil tops as seen on Unibroue bottles.

Yeah I'm not quite sure why some breweries feel the need to wax a beer that should be consumed fresh...

I understand the whole "it looks cool" concept, but mikehblack is right - What's the point of wax on a brew thats supposed to be consumed fresh? Looks good, but not functional.

Plus, beer and sharp objects are never a good idea lol

Is the wax why DevESTATEtion costs ~$5 more than the other Estate beers?

I can usually pop a wax top with just a regular bottle opener. No sharp objects needed fella's.

I had to buy a Ka-Bar with my Devastation. I kinda did feel a bit manlier opening it with a knife however.
