When money is tight I tend to buy more SN because they offer possibly the best bang for the buck out there. However when money isn't a factor and it's time to splurge then I have to be honest, SN is rarely a consideration.

Sierra Nevada's a hop factory, I'm not a hop guy.

If I was to only go with one brewery, Sam Adams would do the trick, IF I could get cream stout whenever I wanted.

I would agree here, but would just have to choose either Stone or Lagunita's since Hill Farmstead are not in my area.

If they keep moving forward and expanding with their recent Lagers trend, it could be possible for me.

[But I do love continuing to support my locals regularly too, though].

SN would definitely be a contender if I had to go to just one brewery. Great beer, many styles, great price and widely available. Living in Idaho just over the Tetons from Snake River Brewing in Jackson Wyoming and Sockeye Brewing from Idaho could also fit the bill for me.

Im guessing you aren't in Arkansas anymore. The lack of Stone was one of my biggest disappointments in Arkansas when I moved here.

I try to drink Bigfoot year round, but I haven't quite got the hang of it yet. I'm always running out in a few months :stuck_out_tongue:

I usually have something by SN in the fridge, too. Can't wait to try their new beers this year. Cheers!

Love SN, although it's sadly easy to forget about them. I think Deschutes would be my exclusive brewery. But then, well, I'd miss Torpedo.

Sorry, but in my humble opinion Heady Topper is the single most over-hyped, overrated beer I've ever tasted. I'll take Smutty's "Finest Kind" any day of the week over HT, and I just finished a wet hop SN that was absolutely wonderful.

    Different strokes, etc. ... Prost!

A hop factory? ---------->Stone is closer.

I hate to go the local route, but Burley Oak would be mine, and that is due to their variety and execution of those varieties. If I had to choose someone outside the local distribution, yes, SN without a question. IF they were fresh. SNPA is hit or miss here as far as freshness.

I absolutely love most of their offerings and I purchase their beer more than any other brewer. Them and founders are my 2 go-to brands depending on the season. Sierra Nevada just has a solid line up of beer that can suit most any occasion. I like Founders variety as well.

I think its possible to not be a "hop guy" and still enjoy their beers. Im not a big hop guy and I enjoy a lot of what SN puts out. I mean the only thing they do that I dont like is when they hop up beers that aren't supposed to be hoppy like brown ales. Otherwise I have no problems with them hopping up beers that are supposed to be that way.

When money is tight, I buy Sierra Nevada almost exclusively. The only thing that I can get for cheaper is Saranac, and if I had to, I'm pretty sure that I could stick to SN exclusively.

Agree w/your post. Follow up question regarding their brown ales, what did you think of Tumbler? Too hoppy for a brown ale?

I love finding SN on tap, which in my area is a bit hard to do (but not impossible). That said, though, I wouldn't drink it exclusively.

Their hoppy beers tend to get all the press, and they definitely brew many hop forward beers. But they're not as heavy handed with the hops as breweries like Stone and Lagunitas.

They now have a hefeweizen (Kellerweis), porter, stout, and pilsner (Nooner) that are year round. Also their summer seasonal (Summerfest) is a Czech pils. Their fall pack is far from hop forward, plus their Ovila series.

If I had to pick one brewery it would be Sierra Nevada. Love most of their stuff, easy to find and reasonably priced.
