Interested in the new packaging format for the Beer Camp. This year was a disaster in my eyes. 4 "decent" beers. 2 of them being hop focused, but most of us were only able to see it 3+ months after packaging (never hit grocery stores this year like it did last year in NorCal where I live), and at the 20$ price point I think most passed on it or simply did not buy it again.

Also, I hope it comes back in the early summer like it did the first time. Plus last year's 12 pack was a lot better in my opinion. The Juniper Black and Weizenbock were awesome and the DIPA and Common were also very solid.

Was this the experience in many places? While I do think I prefer last year's Beer Camp on the whole, I really enjoyed this year's as well. We in NC got it very early, and you could find it at grocery stores for $13.99.

Disappointed that tumbler is still in the seasonal lineup and Bigfoot is going to 4 packs.

The more this brewery caters to beer geeks, the less I'm interested.

Never had the Ruthless Rye. How does it compare to Founders Red Rye Ale?

Ruthless has that upfront, atypical rye flavor with a very yeasty, fruitful, Belgian finish that jumps up unexpectedly. It's fantastic.

It was at most Bevmo's and select liquor/ whole foods I believe. Last year's was at every grocery store I walked into, and fresh. This years was packaged in June and I think my local Bevmo received it in October... I'll just wait until next years 24 oz bottles.

Maybe they'll do a gueze or something, in a 24 oz bottle, haha

Strange... I saw it in grocery stores all over the place. For about the same price as other SN 12ers. Can't remember the dates, but I don't recall thinking the beer was at all stale.

But I agree about being underwhelmed by the beers. I like the imperial pils and imperial red, thought the oatmeal stout was nothing special. And the IPA with rose hips? Didn't work for me. Stilll, it's a cool project, and I'll probably guy it again next time.

I'm going to be depressed if Narwhal is so late it is skipped over for Bigfoot

I hate to agree with this, but I do. Sierra Nevada is still one of, if not my favorite brewery for a host of reasons (quality, beers, customer service, bottle-on dating.....etc.). But I was not a fan of removing one of the few well-made American maibocks in Glissade for another hoppy offering. The move to 4-packs of Bigfoot is another that's been mentioned. Even brewing Hoptimum and Narwhal (admittedly I haven't tried the latter) do not sit well with me. I always enjoyed the fact they never needed to make two of the most popular styles (or barrel age a beer) because they did so well with everything else. In addition to that, Hoptimum is very ho-hum for me personally. I really hope Summerfest doesn't eventually get the axe for a more geek-friendly style such as a saison.

Ditto. I have a bottle of LnL2, I had two of them, drank one. It was a killer good beer! Stoked for another version.

I don't recall saying that at all. Feel free to enlighten me as to where I can find that quote.
