Here in Richmond it's sold at Once Upon A Vine in Northside. Not sure which part of VA you're in -- but good luck!

Yes sir! It was in Newport News and Virginia Beach as of last week. I saw a lone bottle at TW in NN yesterday.

Why did they wax the tops? So they could justify the $10 price tag for an imperial black IPA?

Saw this on a shelf yesterday at my bottle shop, but passed it up for some reason. Bought a bunch of Surly (distributing to IL again) and on a side note, if anyone every gets the chance nab James Page Brewing Co. called "Casper" its a White Stout, drinks like a dark but looks like a IPA. Definitely a solid drink from a small brewery up in Wisc.

I saw a bunch of these on the store shelf yesterday as if they'd been sitting there. I think it's the price.. Are they still worth grabbing at this stage or might they be past their prime? I suppose it's subjective with an above commenter mentioning that wet hops age well.

They are sitting all over central PA. I saw a store package it with another beer as a packaged xmas present.

I am an enormous SN fan but this one just didn't do it for me. I love hoppy beers, I love stouts/porters but it just didn't "come together."

I applaud their efforts to keep this Estate grown line going in the face of crop failures. Maybe next year.

This year--use the $10 somewhere else. IMO Celebration hard to beat this year.

I thought it was good but not worth the $10 price tag. Worth every bit of $6.

Dude, it is expensive because of the ingredients. If you wanna knock a brewery for price point I'd choose someone else.

GE Market District in South Hills had it yesterday behind the counter.

It's just not my cup of tea. There are just way better $10 beers out there as well as black IPAs.

Sure, I'll throw in an opinion. I thought it was worth $10. It was not as hoppy as it could have been, but the malt used reminded me of Narwhal, definitely not a bad thing. That wax cap though... Jesus, that was a pain in the ass.

Still some sitting around Iowa City too if anyone cares.

Hmm I saw it at a beer distributor for 7 or 8, but it was the beer distributor and I was already buying too many beers. Can't you get a grip with a bottle opener on the cap and power through the wax?

I got one at Bevmo right before Xmas. Have not even tried to open it yet. Any tips on getting the wax off?
