I'm shocked by the price of silicone tubing at nearly $5/ft. Any leads on less expensive tubing?

More rigid than silicone, you can make bends or turns if not too sharp. It does not collapse or kink, unless you really abuse it.

Are you sure you are comparing same OD? Just looked at mine and it's 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD which I use for strike water and wort transfer. It is very durable, still on my first set.

Maybe not. Here's what I was looking at and I saw on the right side of the page that Midwest is a listed seller, also for $5/ft.

Try the first Amazon link I posted. It lists all diameters by both ID and OD.

I am proud of my homebrew shop for buying this stuff by the roll and selling it by the foot for a reasonable price.

probably more expensive, but i much prefer thermoplastic tubing to silicone. Much more rigid which i prefer greatly and more durable since I have had silicone tubing rip at the end of the barbs on me while moving.

I found it at Brewer's Hardware for $2.20 / foot. They ship via USPS too, so the shipping is reasonable. https://www.brewershardware.com/Silicone-Hose-1-2.html
