Saw an announcement that Bend's 3rd oldest brewery will begin distributing to Washington. While I think their bottles are decent, WA already has plenty of similar caliber options. Some of their draft offerings like Maui Wowie and Lord Dark Helmet, though, will be worth seeking out. For those of you already familiar with Silver Moon, how do you see their brand and how do you think they'll do in WA?
Maui Wowee is amazing. Really wish I would've bought more than one bottle when they were available... Not sure how they'll do here, honestly.
They will sell well, just like most other breweries of that size and quality. But I don't see anyone going out of their way to get them. Too many other great options.
Exactly my take as well. Other than the Maui Wowie (which I pretty much order whenever I see it on a tap list), there's not much about the Silver Moon line-up that gets me very excited. However, I see their stuff on tap around town here in Eugene all the time, and everything seems to sell fairly well. Nothing seems to languish, and I don't ever recall seeing any of their beer discounted at some of the local growler stations in town (some growler stations will drop the price on slow moving beers that sit around too long). Clearly, the local perception here in Eugene is pretty positive... can't imagine why things would be any different up in Washington. I would expect their beer to sell pretty well up there.
They've actually been here in Washington for a couple months now. I bought their Hop Knob IPA at Beer Junction and while it's a good IPA, really nothing that sets it apart from the pack. Lot's of other options that are just as good or better.
Silver Moon has always been a little treat for me when I've been in Bend. I was surprised to see it on tap here in Hamville in the last month or so.They'll do OK for themselves up here.
