What are some IPAs that have similar hop aroma, taste, and bitterness to Odell IPA?

EDIT: Found some info from here about what hops are used, and when:

I always thought sculpin was fairly close...

    Stone IPA
    Firestone Walker Union Jack

All 3 born well before the hop craze. All 3 west coast style. With Stone IPA being the most bitter and dry.

Interesting, I never saw Odell as a full blown west coast IPA, despite the fact it's hot a huge malt profile compared to most IPAs and also has HUGE hop flavor, just not a lot of the nasty bitterness that was typical for hop bombs of this size 7-8 years ago.

Then again, I've not had Stone IPA but once several years ago, and none of the others in this thread because it wasn't available until recently where I live.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Stone IPA is really not anything like O'Dell IPA

Yeah, I didn't remember it being like Odell, otherwise I would have probably purchased it since then.

Odell IPA is my personal favorite IPA. The two that first come to mind when trying to think of something similar have already been mentioned - Sculpin and Union Jack.

I just did a quick excel spreadsheet comparing the ABV, Malts, IBUs, and types of hops and how they were used of the IPAs I've had, and IPA's I found myself buying over the years.

    My summary:

    * ABV was not consistent

    * IPAs using a larger portion of munich, vienna, or caramel were purchased more often

    * Chinook was quite popular for a bittering hop, with Magnum appearing often as well in my favorites

    * For aroma, cascade and centennial were present in nearly every beer of my favorites.

Using this info, I can predict that I'm going to really love Union Jack IPA once it is here in Kansas next week. It hits all of these points.

Sculpin and to some extent 2Hearted, Odell's IPA is superb.

I'm glad to read that Stone IPA and Odell are nothing alike, I just had the two some days ago and I thought that way.
Loved them both but Odell was the winner for me.

Stone IPA is a full 17 IBUs higher than Odell

About the same ABV, but no malts listed on Stone's website.

Magnum with Stone vs. Chinook for bittering hops

Aroma hops were very different, however - only Centennial was the same, and Centennial is only used as a hopback hop on Odell.

Odell IPA is one of my favorites. Too bad that I can't seem to find any fresh any more.

For my taste, Union Jack is similar. I love them both. Unfortunately I have the same issue with UJ as with Odell IPA. I just can't seem to find it fresh any more.

However, ingredients may not play as big of a roll in finding something that "tastes similar."

The type/ health of yeast, pitch rates used, temperature control, dry hopping methods, etc., will all play big rolls as well.

Sometimes I find two beers taste very similar when they, recipe wise, are not similar at all.
