A bit less, but I consider that also part of me becoming an old man.

In my earlier days my friends and I would go to the bar and not uncommon to drink 10 beers in a night. Those nights have changed into 3 or 4 good beers while hanging out at someone place.

I find myself drinking about the same quantity, maybe a touch less, but far broader styles. I used to stick with brown ales and other "stepping stone" styles, now I drink and enjoy just about every style.

I actually didn't drink at all until I found out about the world of craft beer. After trying your typical domestic beers, I figured I just didn't like the taste of beer, period. Boy, was I wrong...

My real "discovery" of craft beer started the same time as my first year of law school. Not sure on the causation, but I started drinking much, much more beer that year.

    Less wine.

I don't really drink more often although some of the beers I know enjoy are higher ABV so in most situations I'm looking at the ABV of the beer I'm drinking a lot more often then I used to and planning around what style of beer I'm choosing

Pretty much has been a bell curve.

Before a decent amount of vodka/some beer, then more than average craft beer, back to decent amount of craft beer.

I didn't really drink beer at all before I discovered craft beer... heck, I hardly drank anything alcoholic at all. Occasionally I'd try a glass of wine if someone was opening a bottle, or occasionally one of those flavored alcoholic drinks (like Seagram's Escapes and such, the ones that're supposed to be like mixed drinks in a bottle) if someone had those, or occasionally an actual mixed drink like a margarita if I was in a restaurant that had them... but I never bought my own (with the exception of a six-pack of hard cider and I think one margarita, both not that long before I got into beer), just tried a little bit of what other people had if they were offering it. Except beer, which I pretty much just avoided after having one bad experience with it years ago. I have clear memories of eating at a pizza place one time in college and the people I was with ordered the big ice bucket full of Coors Light bottles, and wondering if maybe I should try one around the time there were only one or two left in the bucket... but then eventually deciding to just stick with my Dr. Pepper.

So yeah, definitely one in the "a lot more" camp here. XD

The same. I like to enjoy the enjoying without over enjoying because that really is not enjoyable.

Drank micro/craft a lot in college and for a couple years out. Then quantity over quality prevailed but in the last couple years have gone back to craft and drink more styles and will have beer more often. Now it is much more about experiencing the different beers and breweries out there

Less but mostly because of age.

A lot more... less in individual sittings, but way more often.

A lot more, but interestingly much less when I am out at a function because even though I wouldn't call myself a snob, a lot of times there aren't any great choices at functions. I patiently have a few of whatever they have and crack a good beer when I get home. My wife looks at me like I've got an issue when I grab a beer from the fridge on the way into the house at midnight.

I have been drinking a little less, simply because better beers cost more.

The first year or two was a lot more but I have sinced slowed down. Much like you, I typically drink either what I know I like or something limited/"special" for those occasions. I love trying new brews but no longer am I double-fisting at a crazy rapid rate. I usually will drink more when I'm out of town or on vacations when I have access to new/smaller breweries or those out of my distro.

Homebrewing has really caused an uptick, but it's cyclical. I'll find myself drinking more when I'm trying to free up bottles for something else. Otherwise, I'm consistently 2-3 most nights, 4ish on weekends, a couple nights off entirely.

It's the weekend amounts that have really dropped, and the duration. I used to have 7-8 on Friday starting around 7:00 PM and wrapping up around 1:00 AM. Now I'll start around 6:00 PM, have a few and I'm usually in bed by 11:30.

I typically did Jack chilled as a nightcap before my return to craft, now I have replaced it with maybe a beer a night 2-3 times a week, then do my "research" on the weekends. So ya, about the same when you consider ABV

    More beer...
Less wine and almost no spirits.

Never before now has beer been able to offer the variety, depth and complexity that rivals other beverages in such an affordable format. AND without all the BS pretentiousness.

Wow...I really find that hard to believe. I am in the "drink a lot less" category but the majority "drinks a lot more"?

I'm 49 and pounded cheap light beers for a large part of my drinking years...football games, back yard parties, camping and fishing...lots of cheap, low ABV swill! A 12 pack or more on any given day was not uncommon.

Now I drink 1 or 2 beers in a sitting...and on weekends and days off...maybe 4/5. All I can say...for me...the math has been much easier to do with the smaller numbers I'm consuming. My liver and kidneys are thanking me and so are my taste buds !

Last night I split a 64oz growler of IPA (6.5) with my wife...we watched two movies about 4 hours...32oz each...a little less than 3 twelve oz pours or not much more than 2 pints. Back in the day we would have easily slaughtered a 18 pack? I much prefer the less quantity and more quality route that we have taken over the last few years...cheers!

I chose "a lot less" as my craft beer discovery correlated my entry into graduate school. I simply don't have the budget to drink the beer I want to. :slight_frown:

Mine had to be a lot more, as I had given up on North American beer as a wasteland prior to discovering the glory of craft beer. Since starting on this "hobby" I have been a very regular drinker, not heavy, just regular.
