Looks like the message was received by the SingleCut North IG account as they have been listing prices in the post.

I actually mentioned on one of their recent IG posts that I think people would appreciate them posting prices, so, hopefully they continue in doing so.

Popped in on Saturday and grabbed a 4pk of Weird and Gilly ($16), Tell Shaky ($20) and two cans of HBoL ($7 each, they were not being sold as regular 4 pks). I would have a fridge full of W&G at $16/4 pk. Haven't tried the other two yet but HBoL better blow me away for $7.

I just went to one of my locals and they had three fresh SC beers (one of them SSMS, which was one of my favorites) that just came in...didn’t even give it a thought. It kinda sucks, but they dug this grave.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that cheaper than their price when it was bottled?

I can't remember exactly what it cost in the stores but I want to say you are right. I haven't been to their home base yet so not sure what it was on site. My whole thing is for $7 it better be a great beer.
As a side note, I had Tell Shaky and was impressed. Still haven't opened HBoL.

HBOL was absolutely at least $8-10 when solid in the 16.9oz bottles, so $7 is very much a fair price for what is a very good 11.2% stout at only .9oz less now.

I haven’t seen it cheaper than $30/4 anywhere. Easy pass. Fuck, I can get 4-packs of Evil Twin, EMJ, for half that. Even the big stouts Sand City, Finback, Nightmare, etc etc I can go on and on are less than $25 a 4.

I mean, I have zero desire for a 4-pack of an 11% stout, but a $7.50/can price for that is fine, even if other (potentially better) stouts are cheaper.

And I say that as somebody that has been incredibly critical of SC's pricing structure.

What took you so long?

If your brewery makes $22/4-packs of Cacao PM Dawn look like a bargain then you’ve done fucked up as a business.

    Nah.

Oh it’s been awhile. Since I had a brown looking Mo Shuggie last Spring and their beers costing, constantly, $2 to $4 more than any of their fellow brewers, I’ve been done.

It’s a shame, I much rather liked them a few years back.

I hear you. Same here. $18 four packs of average IPA (Weird & Gilly) and $14 four packs of subpar witbier lager (Jan) were the final nails in their coffin for me.

As I alluded (I edited my post after you replied), if you can make world class breweries like Tree House/Trillium/etc look like a great deal then it’s time to review your business strategy. You can only gouge people so many times before they catch on.

More for the rest of you guys though, cheers.:beers:

Had my $7 can of HBoL w/ cacao and vanilla tonight. A very tasty stout with rich roasted malt and dark chocolate fudge flavor, didn't get much vanilla. If you are looking for a robust stout that isn't packed with a ton of adjuncts this will not disappoint you. I wouldn't go out of my way to pick it up again based solely on the cost but, as far as the quality is concerned it's a winner for me.

Easy pass at the high pricing ($21, $20, $22 and $20), especially when referenced to other beer on the shelf (note the IA). And this was today at a shop in CT that probably has the lowest beer prices I see anywhere.

Aside from those that live near the taproom, do people still actually buy their beer? I honestly pass directly over their offerings when you consider price and quality vs the awesome variety we have on the shelves
