I like the switch to the black text over the gray. It's easier to read.

Looks fine to me, but there are some good suggestions above (link color, color of the New flag).

The text on the active tab (i.e. the bold 'Forums' when you're in, naturally, the forums) is difficult to read in black on the grey tab...maybe make it white or a very light grey.

Another vote for the new message being brighter. Gold/yellow like the old beermail would be cool. Miss seeing that...

I like this a little better than the last iteration. The icons at the top still don't "pop" though.

The text. "Home" "Forums" "Members" "Help" "username" "Inbox" "Alerts" "Log Out"

    Yeah, that's the one.

BTW, the new "NEW" flag for new posts is an assault on the eyes w/ the tan-ish background and white text.

EDIT: you had already changed the "NEW" flag by the time I was done posting. Its a little better now.

I'd wait until it's been fully change. Still playing with it.

The white text on the tan "NEW" tags are not readable, not enough contrast, otherwise it is getting nicer.

The forum space is much wider on this version than the old site so the large black bars on the right and left are gone much thinner. Personally I prefer it this way.

As far as suggestions, I was going to say the site had too much gray, but now I think it's about right. Not sure if I'm getting used to it or it's been updated throughout the day.

I don't think the black "NEW" flag is bad. It sticks out well. The only thing I don't like is that the black of the flag dips into the black of the bars on the sides. However, that's not so bad.

Indeed. I prefer it this way as well.

What about a more grey-ish background where the white space is? Flip the colors around possibly? But, then you'd have to have different color type than black. So, maybe that won't work actually.

What about going back to the old-school style yellow like on the old site for the links/clickable stuff at the top?

Wouldn't mind some darker borders around quoting and reply boxes. Makes them "pop" a bit more, and doesn't look as bright.

maybe add an underline to the hyper links so you know they are links.

As a suggestion Yellow with Black text might make them pop a little.
