It looks a little better now. Still a little bland looking though. How about getting some white and gold like before?

I've seen a few of the different color options for the titles both on the main forum selection page and also for the individual post titles in each forum. I don't necessarily have a favorite, but I definitely like the ones with darker text better...it makes it easier to scan and see which posts I've read and which I haven't.

just go all black with white writing....j/k

Looks like the backgrounds and text are too close together in color.

Yeah, definitely better in terms of color, but as others have said, some way to minimize the huge amount of bright white space would be good. Maybe change the background color of the body of the forum to something slightly darker? Or just minimize the white space somehow?

I'm not sure whether this is related to the color scheme or just a bug, but lately I've been unable to see the bar graph on polls; the numbers are still there, but the visual representation is impossible to see.

    A couple things:

I think there needs to be something more separating posts or differentiating posts. When looking at it on my phone it cuts off the avatar and sometimes responses sort of run into eachother.

The word "New" on the new tags should be black not gray.

I also think it would be nice if the Like and Reply buttons were a bit bigger/more button like.

    Bright white background is harsh.
    25% grey might work.

Apparently different skins are not an option?

Just because everybody has an opinion, I favor the Report, Like, Reply 'buttons' looking like links, more classic BA, vs like distinct buttons such as other, less cool websites.
This is looking very BA and I'm liking it. And I notice people aren't exploring the space WRT using all the gewgaws in the editor. Also very classic.

Huge improvements so far!!!! Awesome, Todd.

Wish list: Agree with the comment make the forum narrower, more black margin on each side. Agree with the comment that the separator between posts (the horiz rule) could be thicker. Maybe add a nav sidebar on the left of the forums. Get rid of "Member"--cuz nobody else has mentioned it.
And add an "Events" tab to the profile page.

It's starting to look really good! Another small thing I noticed...I think it would be helpful if the "replies" stood out a little more. Right now, it's a very light blue box around the "coreymcafee said..." box and I think the forums would read a little easier if that part stood out. Just a touch darker would help.

    Werd.

I'm not a fan of this current scheme. Still very bland and now we're back to grey/blue "NEW" flags? :grimacing:

I'm liking the blue for links, but not for reply boxes and the "NEW" markers; I thought gold with black lettering looked great for those.

I think the grey helps tone it down some. I have light sensitive eyes ,so the white is still a bit bright for me but I can live with it.
Not familar with this forum format but the php sites I built in the past allowed you to import other skins. Then each user could choose the one that they liked. If it's an option with this format I think it would make everyone happy. If not then that's fine also.
Either way I'm pleased with the changes and again want to say THANKS for all the time and work that has been put into it.

here's one of the forums. the white background is the default which guest and anyone sees with out change. the black is the skin I run.

Yeah the grey in the first picture is nice. The second pic is a lot smoother though perfect in full screen.

Looking good! Only a couple inconsistencies are standing out for me.

Would be nice to see you tie in the links with the yellow #c96, #fc6 on hover, etc. from the main site. Possibly on the users in the left sidebar. Trying to recall how it was on the old site. Possibly use a yellow shade where the thread quoting is right now!? The New tags on the right side of threads might look nice with a black or dark gray (#333 or #666?)/yellow thing going on too...

Consider making the font-weight on the forum grouping headings such as General, BeerAdvocate Talk, etc. strong/bold to match the Reviews heading on the main site reviews.

I'm also not entirely sold on the thread previews on mouseover. The scroll up jQuery hover thing is distracting but others may like it so whatever works.
