I was under the impression that Six Point would no longer be distributed in Georgia, but I was in a Total Wine up in the Atlanta area on Saturday and noticed they had Bengali on the shelf. Could it just have been old stock or have my dreams of buying Six Point here not been shattered?
I may be wrong, but I think that both Sixpoint and Finch's withdrawals from Georgia have been confirmed. A bit of a shame about Finch's, as I loved both Secret Stache stout and Fascist Pig red ale. But freshness was always an issue with those beers. Finch's never bothered to date their cans (at least for the benefit of the consumer--they may have dated the case), and I could never tell how old they were. Given all the competition in Georgia, their beers tended to sit on the shelves for way too long. Sixpoint did a great job of dating their cans, but I frequently came upon out-of-date beer from them. But 3Beans was a great beer, and it's a real shame that we likely won't see 4Beans.
I can confirm that both breweries are indeed done in Georgia. Any inventory you see around is probably nearing expiration. Luckily Sixpoint dates their stuff with a best by on the box, so verify that.
If you can get the 4beans, get it, it's awesome. If they are no longer distributing to Georgia, I would def check the dates. Sixpoint beers are best when fresh, obviously....
Thanks for the replies everyone. I automatically assumed it was old stock, considering they only had Bengali in stock, but I just wanted to verify that. Thanks again.
