Sixpoint 4Beans Imperial Porter

Loved 3Beans, hope to get my hands on some of this.

 

Just came in here to say that @Sixpoint is a consistent class act, putting out awesome beer at an amazing price point, all while maintaining the best presence on this site of pretty much any brewery. Keep up the awesome work, can't wait to try this one, as I loved 3Beans.

 

Yes, OH and WI and Chicagoland (and all other areas that have Sixpoint distribution) should be getting at least some of this beer. All wholesalers had the option to order one pallet, and most have already placed their preorder.

FWIW, this beer is now officially in cans, and its shipping to wholesalers as of Monday. It may be on shelves in your area as early as this week (NYC should see it on shelves) but for all other markets, most likely next week.

Thanks for the sincere complements. In our humble opinion, good packaging should actually be a reflection of good content inside. The same amount of thoughtfulness, determination, and effort should go into the packaging as the formulation, process, technique, and creation of the beers. It should be a total work of art - not just good beer in lousy packaging, or bad beer in solid packaging. It needs to be an integrated effort.

The vanilla bean addition to the 4Beans helped provide a nuance to the beer without making it a total vanilla bomb...it sort of serves the same effect is oak-aging a beer...rounds out the harsh bitter flavors and roasty flavors, and helps fuse them with the malt, coffee, and other more aggressive items in the beer. Essentially, it makes the beer a bit more savory.

From first samples and tastings, we believe this will be an excellent beer to age. Its tasting robust and intense right now, but with some time, it will probably taste like a rich dessert beer. We enjoyed the hell out of one from a snifter glass at our manager's meeting on Friday morning.

We did a side-by-side as well last Friday. 4Beans is definitely more robust and pronounced right now - but that is because its fresh, and the 3Beans is now over 2.5 years old....

We will do so. And thanks for noticing and appreciating the work we have put in regarding price. This is a topic that is becoming more and more prevalent on this site - have you noticed that?

It seems like more and more beer is stacking up on shelves, gathering dust, and rotting away. I've seen this in all corners of the United States - the selection is so massive these days, those who are shooting the moon on pricing and not delivering value to their customers will get burned. In the end, as brewers, we must ensure that all of our customers are getting fresh beer at a fair price. This takes a lot of effort and scrutiny to govern a supply chain like that, but folks definitely appreciate it in the long run.

Love Sixpoint, but many of their beers don't make it to Indiana. I'll probably have to pick some up when I visit my folks in NJ this December.

 

Pumped for 4beans! Any idea when the website will update the beerfinder? it currently does not list 4beans as one of the options
