Sixpoint: Alpenflo Helles Lager

Interesting observation, I almost always find my import Helles beers more flavorful at slightly warmer temps -- not quite English Ale temps, but not far off.

 

Me too, which is why my default setting is just using the beer fridge which is around 46 degrees. I didn't even think to try this one colder until I pretty much had to.

 

I think another interesting matchup would be with Schell's Fort Road Helles. I got that one scored 4.21 and Sixpoint 4.52

 

@ecpho, you’ve still got time to come on down to the release and get in on this Helles goodness. Plenty of 12 packs for sale!

 

A bit too far for me!
I did just return yesterday from a work trip to Boston and did not find any Alpenflo at the otherwise amazing River St Whole Foods in Cambridge. Bought Night Shift 87 DIPA, Psuedo Sue, Notch Zwickel, Exhibit A Kolsch and CBC Saison. I also picked up a (combined) case of Jack's Abby Franconian Kraft, Maibock and Heavy Trommel at the brewery. Plus with all of the SN Party Packs (for the Kolsch) I have a ton of beer. If you want to ship me a 12 pack - I'd happily pay for it - but still no luck finding it in my travels.

 

Wish we could get Schell's here in PA. I tried to find some last month while working near Chicago, but Binny's didn't carry Schell's so I'm still on the hunt.

 

Where do you live in PA? Schell's beer is available in Pittsburgh.

I have been buying Alpenflo regularly since it has been released, but now I think I'm gonna have to start grabbing even more of it.

Yesterday my wife decided that she really enjoys it. The two of us drank an entire 12pk yesterday.

 

I’m back in New Hampshire from Vermont. Is this beer available anywhere in the Granite State? I only have two cans left and I would like to purchase a new case.

Picked up a 12 of Alpenflo this weekend. Fantastic Helles, crisp, refreshing. I certainly can and will kill these all summer long.
