    Sixpoint Brewerywww.sixpoint.com, www.instagram.com/sixpoint

Address: 40 Van **** St, Brooklyn, NY 11231

Tap Room Hours: Only open during Saturday releases for now.

How to Get There Via Mass Transit
    • Take the F/G to Smith-9th Street, then either (1) walk over (15 minutes), or (2) take the B61 from the corner of Smith and W 9th
    • Take the free Ikea ferry from Pier 11 in the Financial District
    • Take the subway from Manhattan and hop on the B57. Useful stops are at Court St and Schermerhorn St (for Borough Hall and the 4/5) and Jay St/Willoughby St (for Jay St – MetroTech and the A/C)
Current Tap List: @Sixpoint often gives us a heads up the week of the release as to what will be available on tap during the release, but it’s subject to change. Currently tasters and $5-7 for pints of what's on tap.

    Growler Fills: None for now.

Can and Bottle Sales: See below for this month’s release.

    Outside beer: Nada.

Kids and Dogs: OK for now, but not recommended as the space in the courtyard is limited, so it is not an ideal space for either. A few dogs have made appearances.

Swag: https://merch.sixpoint.com/. Items also for sale through the App and in the courtyard on release day.

Local Eats: There will be a food vendor at Sixpoint during the release party, usually empanadas. For before or afterwards, check out: Fort Defiance, Red Hook Lobster Pound, The Good Fork, Hometown Bar-B-Que, Defontes, Grindhaus (opens at 5 PM), Ample Hills Factory and Museum, plus a lot of other places on Van Brunt St near Pioneer.

Nearby Drinking Establishment (20 minute walk): Van Brunt Stillhouse, Rocky Sullivan’s, Sunny’s Bar, Brooklyn Ice House, Seaborne.

App: Required to purchase small-batch releases and/or merch, and doing so will create a QR code that provides access to the courtyard on release day. Find it on the App Store or Google Play.

    November Release
    Bean Day is Back!
Peanut Butter Beans: 7.6% chocolate peanut butter imperial porter. $18 per sixer.
Horchata Beans: 14% bourbon barrel-aged imperial porter with tiger nuts, cinnamon and vanilla. $22 per 4 pack.

On sale 11/12 at 12 PM EST, pick-up on Saturday 11/17 at the release party from 11-5. Alternate pick-ups available on 11/19 and 11/20.

Sneaky with the tiger bean. I was wondering what bean is in horchata. But you went all Spanish tiger style

Slightly noob question here: are all of the “regular” Beans beers (3/4/5 etc) still hitting regular distro? Are these brewery-only variants a tribute to the linelyfe lifestyle kinda like the Smoothie series?

The app is really cool by the way, just not quite cool enough to entice me to drive from Philly area to Brooklyn. That’s more for you guys though, enjoy!

What in the world are tiger nuts? Are they similar in any way to “real nuts” (i.e: walnuts)? I already have to pass on the PB version since I’m allergic to peanuts, as well as allergic to fkn walnuts, almonds, cashews.

You find a male tiger and...

Seriously though apparently they are tubers (like potato) so not a real nut.

Hahah yes apparently they are the tubes of Yellow Nutsedge, on overly aggressive invasive weed here in the US.

Grabbed a six pack of Meltdown from Whole Foods. Need to try another, but first impression was more of a letdown. (Based on the hype) Maybe I’ve been drinking too many Galaxy IPAs lately but agree with the poster in the October thread that said Mosaic and Galaxy would be better in the next iteration of this beer.

Is the Horchata beer a 6pk or a 4pk? The app seems to say 4pk.

Nice catch -- I missed that when making the original post. Seems like a $22 4-pack. Will get a mod to update the initial post.

Makes perfect sense that they would be bought. They have a great presence all over the country, pretty well established. Smart purchase by Southern Tier/Victory. Sounds like they will finally get the tap room going but I really feel they missed the boat with that. We will see....

Did anyone else catch the “sixpoint sells out” post by the butt hurt dude before it was removed?

Caught it, then I actually reposted a 2nd just to start a discussion here but mine was removed by mods "vague title, duplicate title, wrong forum"

Not sure why I can't post a discussion about a Mid-Atlantic Brewery in the Mid-Atlantic forum. Pretty sure I was specific in my topic but I am sure the Mods will play god and flag this as well...

That being said, I agree with above. Makes sense on the purchase. 3 regional breweries in this area pooling resources and assets, all with tap rooms. Lots of business synergies here.

I am more interested to hear what Shane is looking to do in the future. He has been a great vocal voice for small and private breweries, It says he is looking to focus on the app and other ventures. Hopefully this may include another small brew project down the line, but I assume on the business end he can also see the app as a venture to share with breweries around the country now that it has had a great success.

That being said..congrats @Sixpoint, have always been a fan of your beer and your transparency, will continue to support.

I hope everyone has their long johns and wool socks ready -- 10 day forecast shows rain/snow showers the night before the release! #staytuned for more from your friendly neighborhood weatherman, @jrnyc.
