Sixpoint puts out great beers, yet after 12 years they have yet to open a brewery/tasting room in Brooklyn. What gives? Maybe cheaper to brew in PA and still say that it's from Brooklyn. Anyone know why?

If I remember correctly they do brew in Brooklyn for their one off beers, but the cans and production beers are brewed down south not in PA anymore. Also thought from a previous thread that there may be a brewpub/ tasting room in the works

Also, @Sixpoint Shane has made it clear that if you are in the area and want to come in to meet with Shane, have a pint, and talk about Sixpoint, he'd be happy to arrange it (especially for BAers). He's also suggested bringing a growler or two in the past.

Memphis, TN, at City Brewing Co.'s "Blues City" subsidiary, once a +5 million barrel capacity brewery - built by Schlitz in the 1970s, operated by #3 Stroh in 1980s and Coors in the 1990s-early 2000s.

Question on can dates. The drink by date is how long out from canning date? 1, 2, 3 months out?

Speaking of sixpoint, anyone had "dozer foam"? Saw it on tap at one of the local growler spots, but the price was a bit prohibitive for me...

I just found a can of 3 beans in the back of my fridge that's probably 3 or 4 years old. Should I try it?

Can be up to a year, as noted by the owner, BA Sixpoint himself:

It's like a year for most beers, some are less but it's not easy to find that info. I pass on their beer more often than not because of this.

I really don't understand why they don't put a canned on date on the box along with the best by date, there is plenty of room on the box. I understand the limited space on the bottom of the skinny cans but no reason not to put more info on the boxes.

I forgot where the thread is, but they've done tests and they stand by the product as long as it is refrigerated (as suggested on the package).

3 or 4 years old? Might be time to clean out your fridge, who knows what else is lurking in there !?

At this point I would love just to see a tap room dedicated to the Mad Scientist stuff.

Probably because very few people will buy a 9 month old IPA but a lot of people will buy an IPA that's good for another 3 months.

Maybe Shane (@Sixpoint) has an 'answer' here?

    Cheers!

Do you really think they can brew all their beer in Brooklyn? A brewery doesn't need a public tasting room.
