    semi-official press release:

SIXPOINT BREWERY THROWS DOWN "TESLA" LAGER

MAD SCIENTISTS’ ORIGINAL ELECTRIFIED WHEAT LAGER IS NEXT INSTALLMENT OF CYCLIQUIDS AND AVAILABLE DRAFT ONLY

JULY 8, 2014, BROOKLYN, NYC, USA, WESTERN HEMISPHERE, PLANET EARTH, MILKY WAY -
Brooklyn-based Sixpoint Brewery today announced the release of the "TESLA" -- a 7.0% ABV draft-only offering described as an "electrified wheat lager." In true Mad Scientists fashion, this beer cannot be confined to style guidelines, but instead was brewed to taste by the team of Mad Scientists at Sixpoint Brewery. A bright filtration and healthy dose of fragrant hops, substantial wheat portion in the mash, and a clean fermentation profile make this beer a unique installment as the next Sixpoint "Cycliquid." Are you electrified yet?

"Excuse the pun, but I'm amped for this release! We've been working with lager recipes for years with such brews as the Berserker Bock and Crisp, and I could not be more excited to share this unique creation with our fans" said Shane Welch, President of Sixpoint Brewery. "I'm particularly excited to see what the most bold and discerning beer drinkers will think of this."

The TESLA is named in honor of one of the true Mad Scientists of the modern era, Nikola Tesla. Much of his work was misunderstood during his years, but with the passing of time, he has been vindicated as a true mad scientist who was simply ahead of his time.

"We've been formulating, creating, and pushing boundaries since we came onto the scene 10 years ago" added Welch. "Sometimes when you take risks and people don't understand what you are doing, you get ridiculed. No biggie, we're still formulating. Drop us a line and let us know what you think!"

No animals were harmed during the creation of this brew. The brewery dog stole some spent grain, but that's about it.

Majorly ISO...that looks unique and refreshing just based on appearance. Much darker than I expected. Too bad it's draft only...

When can we start hammering the beer finder app to see where it will be available?

some of the test batches varied in color to the final result...we did about 4 or 5 trial runs before we made this...

we will get it integrated as soon as we can...there is usually a 2-3 day delay with reporting from our wholesalers

This sounds great. However, I thought they one-upped DFH and actually shot electricity through the beer. (And, wouldn't that burn it?)

An immersion coil would essentially be the same thing ;-)

But for real, all conventional brewhouses nowadays are electronic anyways - or at least the control board is :-)

The "draft only" part worries me. Worries me in that I am concerned I won't see it in Texas.

I had a feeling it was going to be hoppy. Like the idea, though; hoppy wheats have certainly been big hits with a couple breweries.

Definitely an interesting color profile. How much wheat is "substantial," if you can share?
