Two of my go to beers. The Resin and now Hi-Res. I love the fact that I can get them at any decent beverage place in my area. A lot of Sixpoint's stuff is excellent. If this wasn't distrubuted as much as it is I think it would be in hi demand like Pliny or Heady.

This is yet another great beer by Sixpoint. I had heard that the alcohol was well hidden but I didn't expect it to be that well hidden. Easily one of the most drinkable DIPA's I've had yet.

Hi Res is a great beer!

Also always forget how good Resin is, plus six point dates cans and card board box. I got hooked on Bengali for an entire summer 2 yrs ago. Also love how Autumnation changes hops every year

I've said once I'll say it again. If this wasn't as available as it is, it would be talked about like Heady and Pliny the Elder.

I've got a can of this open right now and while I am enjoying trying to figure out how they hid 11.1% in this here drink, it definitely will not be quickly returning to my fridge. It's a good beer, but I probably wouldn't drink it again given other options. I will say however, it is getting better as it warms.

Great beer. Just finished a can and I found it very enjoyable. Definitely not one to chug, but I still found that it went down easy and I enjoyed each sip. I'm a big fan of Resin so I had hopes for Hi-Res and it didn't disappoint.

Wow. Drinking it now. Intense hop aroma and taste and surprisingly less bitter than anticipated. Sweet, until a dry, bitter finish. Smooth, full body and too drinkable for 11%. I can see how the intensity of the hops could be polarizing, but I love it. Thanks Sixpoint

We recently did an experiment at work where we did a double blind taste test of respected but easily accessible, commercially available beers. Some of these beers do not get any hype at all on BA or other beer forums, nor are they "coveted" by people in the sense that a high trading value is placed upon them. In summary, these beers were value priced, accessible, and abundant craft beers.

We tasted them alongside beers that are "legendary" for their greatness - but are extremely inaccessible, where in some instances you have to drive to the brewery to get them, or trade for them on BA to procure them. In summary, very limited production and distribution - but a ton of hype.

Keep in mind this was a panel of professional brewers, certified BJCP judges, and Cicerones doing the double blind tasting.

The results were quite shocking to some, but rather logical when contemplated.

What the consensus was is that the "coveted beers" when tasted in a blind panel actually performed no better than average (or even worse in some cases), whereas some of the widely available beers had high scores across the board. The obvious conclusion from all of this is that people place a disproportionate amount of value and esteem on a beer solely due to its scarcity, and its scarcity is a huge driver of its positive reputation. As a matter of fact, scarcity could even be argued to be the sole driver of its reputation in some instances, for why would a beer that performed so poorly in a blind taste test be so coveted? Clearly in some instances that beer is being coveted for something other than the liquid itself - like the fact that its simply difficult to procure.

The laws of supply and demand are not revelatory by any means, but the application of it in this experiment was profoundly enlightening.

Truth. The list of top 250 is rife with rankings based on popularity/scarecity/hype. I love this site, but the ratings of beers here is almost laughable.

I was excited to try this one based on the rave reviews it has on this site. I know I'm in the minority here but I don't really get the hype around this one and it's 94 rating. Disappointing to me and an average IPA at best. Too boozy and sweet. Glad to have tried it but I wouldn't seek this one out.

Its not an IPA, so you tried it and judged it under the wrong assumptions and/or expectations.

Expect the unexpected when you don't brew according to style.
