Thought it would be a great idea to mix this in with a rotation of sucks, jai-alai,and enjoy by. Just peeled myself off the floor (regained consciousness) to confirm this point

Yeah, lots of tropical fruit for sure. Smells very sweet.

I was actually pretty disappointed in the hi res. Wasn't bad, very fruity, pretty sweet. But lacked balance and complexity.

Have you ever tried contacting distributors? or asking the store? those people are assholes and think your trying to sabotage there business by asking this information.. I personally have been told twice to stop calling about new beers from the distributors in my area. maybe some people aren't as fortunate as you to be able to talk to them and get information, maybe some people dont want to scroll threw 8 pages of a thread, and read asshole posts from people like you. its a site for the spread of information, not a place to belittle people for asking questions. it would have taken less time to reply to the question with an answer than it took you to write your post that makes no one want you on here. So sorry that guy ruined your day by asking when a beer will be in his area, maybe you dont need to be on here since you are the all mighty master of beer knowledge. You Sir need to get a life and worry about more important things in life.

Just wanted to add my two cents - I LOVED the Hi-Res, and so did the three other people I split a 4-pk with. Totally very juicy, with both grapefruit and tropical fruit notes. Great mouthfeel (a little oily with good carbonation) and I loved that I really could not tell that I was drinking an 11.1% ABV beer.

Not my favorite DIPA, but it's certainly in the top tier in my book.

Are any of those available now or do they sell pretty fast? My fiance is going to Indy next week and she wants to pick me up some local beer.

First off, I'm a Sir, not a Ma'am. Second, you didn't quite read my message very close, as i mention that iv been told by MY distributors NOT to ask about release date, so again, not all of us have that luxury, kudos to you Sir for having the ability to get that information. I never said i was uncivil, so your comment about being civil with the store is unnecessary and irrelevant. as for my post being in the category of "asshole posts" seems as though you dont like when someone is an asshole to you, but yet, you can be an asshole to others.. treat people how you want to be treated fella, and dont get mad for someone calling you out for being an ass. Not everyone has the time to sit and read threw a thread of 50 questions to find the one they are looking for, maybe in some weird crazy 4th dimension world, someone asks a question that was answered already, and someone else may have a different answer than the first one. weird how that might happen on a forum that people from around the world are accessing. you may call it lazy, others my just call it getting information.

oh.... btw, If Shane from Sixpoint thinks its not appropriate to get information from here, then maybe Shane from Sixpoint shouldnt be on here giving information. seems kind of hypocritical. good call on that one.

    This is what I said:

"Its not a big deal, we are happy to lead people in the right direction. However, it should be noted that its best to read the entire thread before asking a question that has already been answered multiple times. Also, as this forum states, its not intended for questions, so there's that as well."

Nowhere was it indicated that "its not appropriate to get information from here." As a matter of fact its quite clear that the purpose of the forum is conversation and information sharing. But equally important are the rules and tone in which the conversation is carried out - beer is the foundation of civilization, so naturally our discussions should be civilized as well! :-)

    cheers

thanks for clearing that up. seeing as I'm not the one dragging you in conversations by using misquoted text, make sure the Viking God reads that and knows he's misquoting you and should use your words in the correct context.

Had this last night, and it blew me away. I wasn't quite sure what to think. Massive tropical fruit and citrus in the nose: mango and pineapple. Tons of hops. The flavor was similar. Definitely not a barleywine; if any beer I've had deserves the label of triple IPA, it's this one. I called it "Jai Alai on steroids."

All that said, I'm not sure I loved it. A little boozy (probably impossible to hide the heat at that ABV), not much malt backbone, a little syrupy - all hallmarks of a big DIPA/TIPA, so those aren't complaints, just observations.

But it was certainly tasty; an orange glass full of hop juice. I'm glad I've got the rest of the 4-pack to try out soon.

Since I was one those asking a question that had been answered, I would like to repeat that the info about the NJ release wasn't correct, which is why I asked in the first place. It ended up being released later than was originally posted. And I would like to restate, for @BeerVikingSailor, that I did check beerfinder, got no info and asked my beer guy who wasn't sure.

I've since bought two four packs of Hi-res and it's quite tasty. Can we all stop arguing now?

Well , not sure whats going on 7x and sixpoint but had hi res last night and loved it. It tasted better than the regular sixpoint with its multiple tropical flavors . I can't tell the abv is 11.1, but after about 16 ozs. it creeps up on you. Wow, just another beer to rotate in with Sucks . Great job Sixpoint!

Hi-res is good, but I found it somewhat unbalanced; leaning heavily toward the sweet side. I'll take Resin head and shoulders above it's 'bigger' brother
