    Just had one.

Dear lord, this may be the best "Imperial" style IPA I've ever had. Definitely topped Heady Topper for me.

Just picked one up to try and will determine whether I go back for more. Very excited to try it! This may be a super stupid question, but what's the deal with not labeling the type of beer it is? I had to actually look a few up awhile ago because I couldn't find it. I thought I was blind. Sometimes im in the mood for styles and that's what I will shop for and no label kinda makes it a bit more difficult.

See page 2 of this thread, where Sixpoint's "Philosophy" is copy/pasted from their website, and summed up a couple of posts later by "Sixpoint" -

We acknowledge your concerns and we've contemplated putting some more elements into redesigned packaging that will provide more information to the customer. What we are looking for is a balance of keeping the integrity of the original designs while making the beers seem a bit less ambiguous to the newly acquainted Sixpoint shopper. :-)

Didn't want to come on here with all the positive feedback for this beer and talk crap, but I've tried it twice now (once on tap and second a 1/27/14 can...i think). Both times I thought the beer was just too unbalanced. Way to sweet and malty almost to the point where it was undrinkable. Sorry to be negative Sixpoint, I've had your other IPA's and enjoy them...but this just didn't do it for me.

Im sure this is an issue that comes up a lot right? Id have to figure there are a ton of less insane shoppers than us who are already super overwhelmed walking through a beer store with a solid craft selection only to pass because they can't figure out what it is. You guys are so mysterious! :stuck_out_tongue:

Party of the "mystery" is the mad scientists' formulations. That being said, we certainly don't want to confuse or annoy you, so we are coming up with a solution and hope to unveil it within the next year. Cheers!

I'll be honest, when I first started drinking 'craft beer' more regularly I avoided Resin because I just wasn't super knowledgeable about the details of beer (while I knew what IBU's were, I had no idea what the 'scale' looked like and if what was on the can = mildly hoppy, hoppy, super hoppy, etc.). Coupled with the idea of a 4-pack of 'cans' seemed to be of lower quality as it was so abnormal for me to see 'craft beer' in cans.

Then, I did my research (as we all do!) and realized the errors of my ways...Resin is one of my favorite beers and I love the form factor.

I just had my first 4 pack of this- actually my first experience with anything from this brewery. Truly delicious- and that seems to be all that I need to know. The exact style? Seems like a DIPA/ American/English barleywine/ American strong ale to me. Did I just make a whole new category? Yippee!!

I love to do a 50/50 split of Resin & Hi-Res but do enjoy Hi-Res by itself also.

I bought my first Sixpoint product ever, Hi-Res and think it is a fantastic beer. Sucks I had to be in Maryland to find it but that doesn't deter the greatness in the can. Kudos Sixpoint.
