Got ahold of one thanks to Jay Orear. Huge thanks to him. An awesome beer. Tried to really take my time with it as I only had one. Really changes as I warms. Tons of hoppy fruit notes. As it warmed the booziness shows through but still compliments the beer. Doesn't become to "hot". Are these available in any neighboring states to NM? I'd drive a ways to get some more.

You have succeeded in doing this Sixpoint...I push Sixpoint as much as possible...still a bit under the radar here in the Philly suburbs...lots of "I've heard of that but never tried it." But my guys are pitching it heavily to our customers.

I had the Hi-Res fresh on tap side by side with HopSlam...when you figure in price and availability...Hi-Res makes 5 hours in line for HopSlam less sensible. Also had it fresh from the can...wonderfully balanced exceptionally drinkable beer.

Love, LOVE this beer. Drinks smooth and then slaps you with the alcohol content later.

Love the HiRes as Resin has been my go to double for past couple of years
Would love to try a black and tan of HiRes and 3Bean

It has limited distribution in TX, but that's it. Try downloading the Sixpoint app to locate it near the El Paso area.

cool, do you operate a bottle shop out there?

The combination of hops, alcohol, cold-brewed coffee, and chocolate in that concoction would melt your head.

we could - but really concerned about getting the stock levels back up at that store.

Anyone notice the extreme similarity of HI-Res and Maharaja? Just curious, not making any bones here. I love them both...

Absolutely love the Hi-Res. Such a mouthfeel beer. Crazy how big it is in hop/fruit flavored yet how delicate it is as well. Also back end Coates the palate and bottoms out with pine/fruit and mellow malt finish. Alcohol is a lot bigger as the beer warms, but no complaints. Almost happy it's a seasonal. Makes it more special to enjoy. As others have commented, everyone I've shared some with was super intrigued. Gonna let one of my cans age a bit to see how it changes.

I think hi-res is way more stone fruit/bright fresh hop. Loved Maharajha way danker/earthier than Hi-Res to me. Less fruit. Great beers in there own right. Cheers

resin is better than hi-res. Resin is an amazing brew. You will love it. Bengali is Amazing too, and similar flavor profile to Resin. admittedly hi-res is a different beast, but IMHO these two IPA like brews are even better. And both are abundantly available year round. resin is my go to when there isn't some exciting new release around, and begali might be better but I'm a lush so I go in for the higher ABV.

Smooth bitterness I will remember that terminology because that's one of best descriptions for one of my top 5 beers.

The way HI-RES is put together, from a formulation perspective, is different than Resin, as well as the intentions behind the beer. Next year, in January 2015, we will go more into depth about the approach with HI-RES.

One thing to note - although the HI-RES will not "expire" (mean go bad, or become oxidized, or infected, etc.) for many, many months it still should be consumed fresh. Aging the beer is an option if you are into those things, but a beer like HI-RES really should be consumed as soon as possible from purchasing it at the store. The hop aroma and flavor will diminish greatly over time, and the balance of the beer will be thrown off.

    cheers

My bar got this in about a month ago. We blow through at least a case a week. Very tasty and very popular.

Still plenty of cans on the shelves at New Beer. I've been including it in trades as an extra, hoping my traders will be pleasantly surprised.

They tapped a keg at Beer Table in Grand Central yesterday, at their usual outlandish prices ($25/64 oz.) so there's clearly a bunch of this stuff around.

To me that reads as: We invested a ton of money in Late Addition/Dry Hops and dont want to see that go to waste sitting in a cellar.

I also agree strongly with that advice.
