I love Sixpoint as well. still, the criticism of any brewery that opts for best-by dates instead of bottled-on dates is extremely valid. some of my favorite breweries continue to do this, like Sixpoint, and it's just irritating how I have to remember every breweries' month range instead of just glancing at the bottled-on date. there is no universal month range for best-by so it's a dumb thing to do.

that's pretty much my only criticism of them -- and it's the same criticism i have for another one of my favorite breweries, Victory, as well. at least for the hoppy beers, 5-6 months is too long.

I have to agree that as much as I like The Crisp I pass it by for other cheaper pils most of the time. I also do not like the idea that not just sixpoint but all beer is gaining higher prices each time I go to the bottle shop. I love resin and I buy it a lot but I don't want to see sky high prices either. The other thing that keeps sixpoint beer out of my shoppign cart is that they do not name a style on the box. I am sorry but I want to know what it is before I buy it. When I get home if I remember to look it up then I will know.

What I like besides the beer of course - which I really do like a lot - is the freshness dating on the package. Clear, unmistakeable dates! Those dates put those cans in my refrigerator.

i'm sort of in-line with the OP here.

It is a brewery that has one of the most common pro/con's in the industry - they are popular where hip drinkers are, they are nearly unsellable in the suburbs.

I live an hour outside of Baltimore. It is difficult to find any Sixpoint out here, and if you do, anything but Bengali is probably old.

    Meanwhile in Baltimore...
Go to a bar in Hampden, Charles Village, Station North or anywhere else the average beer drinker might have an MFA, lo and behold, you can find the beer.

I have been ordering and hand-selling their beers in my store because i like the liquid and the packaging, and I'm trying to build a customer base for them. It's so frustrating when people think they're just 'hipster beer'. Even though they *ARE* that, they're not *JUST* that.

    ya know?

    6. They banned me from their facebook and twitter pages, and pretty much called me an uninformed idiot with dysfunctional tastebuds when I respectfully submitted a complaint to their "customer service" department after I drain-poured an entire case of their contract-brewed beers because they were awful.

Just a helpful FYI - Sixpoint is actually lowering their cost/ounce with the new 6-packs (haven't seen these yet), as well as putting the style right on the box too. They also print a best buy date on the box (I prefer bottled on, but better than nothing)

also at TW, I brought back copious amounts of Resin and Crisp from there:slight_smile:

reason 7) they donated a keg of 3 Beans to Brews for New Avenues on Sept. 6th:slight_smile:

I do wish they would go to canned on dates instead of best buy dates though.

    Cheers
