    If I'm not mistaken - incandescent bulbs won't skunk a beer, but fluorescent ones will. So your 100-lumen bulb experiment probably wouldn't do much if it's an incandescent light.

    That being said - it doesn't really matter. If you want to skunk a beer, all you need is a sunny day. There's a place here on the beach that serves anchor steam, but if I'm not sitting in the shade I wrap the glass in a napkin and/or cover it with a coaster depending on where the sun is at that time of day. Otherwise, it will be skunked by the time I get through about 4 or 5 ounces of the beer (about four or five minutes).

    And by skunked I mean that I can taste that the flavor is changing that way - not that it's completely undrinkable.

    It's kind of amazing how that "aroma" was so familiar from my younger days of many Beck's, Lowenbrau, and Heineken consumption.

    Literally like someone farted in your face...:confused:

    Sunny patio+pint of beer+1-2 minutes=Skunked beer.
    Reminds me of my youth drinking Heinekens

    They have gone the extra step of adding a skunking line just ahead of the bottling line, it saves the supply chain all kinds of time.
