I am not going to hijack the Goose Island Bourbon County thread. But, in case there are some of you who don't want to contribute to Goose's / ABiB's coffers; I point out this competing event at a newer northwest side craftbeer bar. Sleeping Village is at 3734 W. Belmont Ave., 60618. It is an intriguing venue with no televisions, but music playing in the background in the bar area, and a ticketed music venue in a back room. On Friday, it is having an evening of dark beers, black metal music, and prizes from a bunch of independent breweries. There is notice both at the Sleeping Village World-Wide Web site and a facebook event URL. I got the news from Sleeping Village's E-Mail list. I am going here on Friday night.
