Here's a quick tour of the new Bell's brewery: http://drinks.seriouseats.com/2012/...ed-oberon-beer-tour.html?ref=excerpt_readmore
Looks big enough to start distributing to NJ. One can hope, but seriously those are nice pics a sweet brewery for sure.
It's really cool to see both Bell's and Firestone Walker take the wraps off of their gorgeous new breweries in the same week -- especially given Matt Brynildson's Kalamazoo connections.
Bell's had their open house for the new brewery in May, 2012. I was there. Slide 4 in the slide show says "tanks", but it is the 50 barrel brewhouse which is still cranking out beer. More pictures here. http://www.bellsbeer.com/about/200-barrel-brewhouse/
Hopefully, this means distribution a little further east, like into NY. Hell, they're already in PA. Just had a friend from Michigan bring me 2 sixpacks of Two Hearted dated Aug. 7, 2012. Fresh enough for my taste. By the way, does anyone have a clue why the Bros. rated Two Hearted as a 78? I've never seen that much discrepancy between the BAs rating and the Bros. Just curious.
They are getting production up, target is 250,000 barrels this year. Heard from someone in the know that they are having trouble meeting demand in the areas they are already in. The brewery expansion gives them a 500,000 capacity, but that will take time.
Didn't realize that so much of the east coast doesn't currently get Bell's. Good thing they distribute to Florida.
Sometimes you can look at the obvious place. http://www.firestonebeer.com/brewery/new-brewhouse-project.php
