Are this and this the same brewery? And does anybody know if they have bottling or best before dates? Thanks in advance!
They are not. The first link is to SLO brewing which I think only brews out of their brewpub in downtown San Luis Obispo now, not sure if they have a production facility anymore. The address listed for SLO brewing on the BA page was their old production facility which is owned and occupied by Firestone Walker and has been for many years now. The second link for SLO organics is a chai tea company, which changed names to SLO Chai, then to California Chai. The original version of the Chai Cream ale was a collaboration brew by Central Coast Brewing company and SLO organics, which was actually not bad. The second version (and current version) I believe is contract brewed by a brewery out of San Jose, CA; possibly Hermitage brewing co. The second version of the Chai Cream ale was not good at all.
eyebereej is right on......and if you are looking at the paso robles area, downtown brewing company in paso doesn't brew their own beers either. I recently went to the new Barrelhouse brewery in Paso,,,,really great, unique beers and a beautiful area outside with tables and a large waterfall......
Yes, and the SLO Brewing that is in San Luis Obispo brews their own beers....great comfortable place, casual, lots of tv's, shuffleboard, pool tables, and a decent menu........
Received a reply from Central Coast that says they are brewing one as of now so i guess the one on the market is from them.
I think this is what happened --> SLO Brewing was SLO Brewing for a decade or so, then stopped brewing for a couple of years. It then became one of a Central Coast chain of alehouses (Downtown) that served FW contract beers with a few (four?) locations. The SLO Brewing location went back to being SLO Brew and rehired the original brewer about two years ago, but there is still one of the remaining Downtown Breweries also in SLO.
