    I second that...what a seemingly strange number. Any guesses? I don't have any...some kind of average of production by a "class" of brewers...IDK...

    Yeah, beats me. When I first saw it, I thought:

    "Oh, that must be a round number in hectoliters? Nope. Gallons? Nope. 2.25 gallon "case equivalents"? Nope."​

    Maybe it based on that "90 percent of permitted brewers produce 7,143 barrels or less" figure - they picked the highest barrelage of the bottom 90% of US breweries?

    Or maybe it's the birthday of president of The Beer Insitute? July 1, 1943? :grinning:
