Is it just me or when you post a ISO/FT there are then subsequently more copycat or similar threads created right after with almost identical ISO/FT. I am not just talking about the one I posted a few hours ago, I have had this happen to me pretty much every time I post in the ISO/FT section over the last year even when it doesnt include a very indemand beer.
That is certainly annoying and generally frowned upon, but hard to police. If it's not a very in demand beer though, you'll probably not have a problem, right?
I'm not saying it has to be policed I just don't understand the rational behind it. Some people see the said thread, say hey I have those FT beers too let me make a similar offer? I mean if they want the same beers then sure, I just find it odd its worked out that way more often then not. And some times no, I was looking for something thats been out for a few years and there were 1 maybe to runs of it and not many people had it/wanted it based on doing a search before posting to see if someone was FT it. I make my thread and boom 3 more people iso same beer later that day when that hasnt been iso in over a month... Edit while im on my soap box...since when does DDG + trade for fou foune? The cost difference for one and the fact DDG is more limited strike me as odd that ive seen this both ISO and FT today.
You probably have a large following of people who want to be like you and, realizing they will always fall short of that lofty goal, they figure that if they can't be like you, maybe they can at least drink like you.
That's beer-conomics! Once you show interest in something it draws attention and more people become interested in the same thing and it continues to gain attention and others wanting the same thing. It's early... Not sure if that makes sense.
I haven't really noticed this before, but while it is not the worst offense to be committed on here, it is not a cool thing to do.
I don't post in the ISO/FT often. Only when someone from my respective trading partners doesn't have or can't get something.
