When do tickets for the Anniversary go on sale? They posted the event to Facebook like 2 months ago and really haven't heard anything since...

 

Tickets go on sale Wednesday.

It's that time of year again! Smog City Brewing is throwing a party to celebrate the past year of awesome beer and we want you to be a part of it!

With your ticket you'll get early entrance to the brewery and early access to extra special beers. Add 5 tasters, 2 full pours AND 2 bottles of Incurable Optimist, the official Anniversary Beer of 2016, and you've got one heck of a party!

Incurable Optimist began with the idea of creating a lightly tart, Belgian-inspired Wit with citrus peel and coriander co-fermented with multiple strains of Brettanomyces. We then pulled a selection of 1 and 2-year old sour blonde barrels from our sour library and blended these in. Highly drinkable and complex, this beer remains balanced and approachable.

We have also been hoarding kegs of some super special beers for events like this! So we'll be bringing out the big guns.

Any information if you can buy more pours after your tickets for the VIP session have run out?

 

yeah of course you can. I'd assume you'll be served the same as the public after you run out of tickets.

 

Anyone know the details on how the bottle sales are going to work at the anniversary party?

I've heard Bourbon OE is going up for sale at the anniversary party.

Are they planning on selling bottles out of the back? Or do we have to wait in line to get into the brewery? Anyone know the bottle limits?

I won't be able to stay for the anniversary party but would like to drop by to pick up some BOE. Its one of my favorite Smog City beers.

 

Does that mean they aren't going to do BPT like they did for IW?

And @iamthecarlos, our flagship was a SAISON 3 years ago! We recently discontinued it in order to concentrate of the other 4 cores we distribute and the specialty sours we have been making for the last 3 years.

 

So....who won the fight and got the $20?

There's 4000 bottles of Bourbon OE so you should be fine. Despite being delicious, it's not a sour or adjunct/bba stout so it won't go as fast.

 

That's what I'm thinking. This year's batch is so goddamn good too

 

I was poking fun at the whole Monkish IPA thing. The beer is good, the rest is noise.
