Anybody try this new batch of Snugglebug? Whew. It is excellent.
I’m not a big fan of sours anymore, but I went tonight to get a bottle and a glass. I try to have a nice variety of stuff at the house for holidays and family.
I saw Ryan as I was walking out and he asked if I had tried the new batch. He twisted my arm to come back and have a taster.
I guess they tweaked the blend a bit and the way it’s fruited. You can tell you are drinking a sour but it doesn’t have that twang you get in your jaw. That biting acidity has been brought way down. Just super refreshing and fruity.

Dang, that "twang you get in your jaw" is the perfect description for when a beer is just a tad too tart.

Looks like they're rolling out a gueuze-inspired ale. It's a blend of 3 beers from 3 years. From their email:

In a nod to the storied Belgian lambic style of our sour ales we present Quercus Circus, a blend of sour golden ales aged in oak barrels, which like its inspiration sits at the pinnacle of complexity and elegance achievable in a beer. The initial impression favors the fruity end of the flavor spectrum with the suggestions of soft muscat grape, sharp tartness of a granny smith apple, and fresh-cut pineapple atop a champagne-like effervescence. Mid palate, alongside the fruity component, a melange of musty, floral, and peppery qualities- imparted by the unique microflora used in fermentation- emerges briefly before succumbing to a clean, assertive lemony tartness on the finish.

I remember Quercus from the Anniversary a few years ago (3 maybe?). My palette couldn't handle it. It was a bit much for me.

Anyone know if Buzzworthy sold out last night?

I'm thinking about going a bit out of my way tomorrow to pick up a few bottles if they are still available. Really enjoyed that beer last year.

Looks like Bourbon OE is still available too. Wouldn't mind picking up a few more bottles of that.

Very doubtful that it sold out. Give them a call to be safe but my guess is definitely not. Maybe someone can confirm.

Yup. New label new batch. I was just there the other day after the Space Cookie release, Bourbon O.E. is still available in the tap room.

That said, Cuddlebug batches 1 through 4 are also available....and I was tempted.

Does SteelCraft Smog fill 32oz growlers? I don’t believe they do crowlers. Behind the times.

I don't think Smog fills 32oz growlers or crowlers, period.

But I would love to be wrong about this.

    Oh god. YESSSSS.

Because that Wow! Pop! "crushable IPA" is tasting really freaking good. And more than 32 oz is probably going to be destructive.

Yes. Wow Pop! Is very good. Filled my growler. Too bad they don’t crowler. I’d pick up a few more for this weekend.
