    That's probably why we missed it. We only had draught (keg?) beer when we were there. No flaschebier.

    The first Rauchbier I ever had was Kaiserdom. I remember it was terrible, but I'd probably have a different take on it now.

    Wow. I love smoke beers. One of my favorite styles. But I have not tried to age any.

    Well, just had them both in the order that you recommended. I definitely liked them both. I think I might like the Marzen a little better because it is a little sweeter. But that's not to take away at all from the Urbock, which I also enjoyed. The Urbock kind of reminded me of Sprats that I used to eat as a kid (my father was from Eastern Europe). They had a very smoky flavor. I guess, to me, the difference between the Marzen and the Urbock is that the former has a little sweetness, the latter, a smoky saltiness.

    I find the Marzen to be toastier, too, so keep an eye out for that quality if you do it again. You are probably one step closer to being hooked :slight_smile:.
