Smoked Oaked stout

    i have brewed a smoked stout and was wondering if anyone had ever Oaked a smokey brew with oak and how was it?

    Have brewed a lot of smoked beers, none of which seemed to need more wood flavor. Maybe a very, very subtle smoked beer might benefit, but I doubt it.

    Edit: Did you use Oak Smoked malt? (I believe there is one available now)

    I agree that if you want to try this that both should be pretty light flavors. Maybe a fruit wood smoke with the oak would play well.
