Left Hand makes a smoked Imperial Porter called Smoke Jumper. It is listed as a Limited Availability beer on the website. I personally have not had this beer but I have heard that it is very, very smoky.

    Cheers!

Good one. I had it last year; it took some hunting and luck, and it was pricey, but it was a well-made beer. I thought the smoke and porter flavors were well balanced with each other, though smokier than Stone's for sure.

Michael, I am 100% sure that your tolerance for smoke is much higher than mine.

Sly Fox makes a smoky Rauchbier (100% Weyermann Smoked Malt?). My wife loves that beer. If it is on tap (it is a rotating beer) she will order multiple pints of that beer. I can only drink that Rauchbier as a half & half with a stout (dry stout); that beer is just too smoky for me. I call the half Rauchbier and half dry stout a Smoky Irishman. If you see that name listed on a beer menu somewhere, let me know. I want to collect my royalties for the use of that name!

    Cheers!

P.S. Below is a description of the Sly Fox Rauchbier:

    “Rauch Bier

GOLD MEDAL 2008 GREAT AMERICAN BEER FESTIVAL. Brewed with imported Beechwood Smoked Malt from Bamburg, Germany, this classic style offers an opportunity to taste beer the way it used to taste. Our Rauchbier is a throwback to the days when all malts were kilned with wood; it is medium bodied and smoky on the palate.”

As others have no doubt pointed out, Alaskan Smoked Porter and Stone Smoked Porter are hard find fault with. if they're not distributed where you are... sorry.

Unless you don't like the phenolics in peated malt, which is what the Stone Smoked Porter uses.

The Alaskan is a classic that I really enjoy. I have a 2011 and a 2013 that I need to try.

Bear Republic's Smokey Bear is probably the best smoked porter/stout I've ever had. The problem being, that I've only seen it once at BR Tap Takeover, and it's not even on Beer Advocate... so it's probably going to be a little hard to find.

I've had the Stone SP on cask... that really made the beer shine, peaty or not.

Nice. They both sound like something I'd enjoy, though, each for their own merits- both the Smoky Irishman and the Rauchbier. Too bad that one is draught-only.

It does sound like my tolerance for smoke is much higher than yours, but I'm sure you'll get there one day. The beauty is that at a certain point you can start picking up the base beer qualities a lot better once you are accustomed to it. I suppose it's the same thing that happens with bitterness, acidity, even spicy foods, etc.

Agreed. I drink few smoked beers but this one shredded my face off.

It's technically a stout rather than a porter, but I'd suggest Three Feet Deep from Furthermore, if you can get it. It has a really substantive smoky/peat aspect to it, without the excessive astringency you run into with most other serious smoked beers.

In ri and ma there is leaning chimney by grey Sail, it was pretty good, if you can get a hold of it I'd recommend it, the only other ones I had were German and I forgot the breweries that made them

Yazoo Sue is nice, and I find The Bruery's Smoking Wood to be pretty fantastic. I have Swamp Head Smoke Signal in a bottle now if you are interested in that one, OP.

Not a porter or I would have rec'd this for you. I loved it. And if you think it's good straight up try it with a good pastrami sandwich. It's perfect.
