Smuttlabs Apple Brandy BA Gravitation

I am looking online at the description of this beer, and it lists the ABV at 12.5%. However, on the bottle, it suggests that it's ~8.5%. It's hard for me to believe that a quad, in a barrel for 6 years, would only be 8.5%. Does anybody have any information related to my quandary that might help me out? Thanks.
