I understand the price issue. I go over the same things in my mind when I'm in the beer aisle for an hour. I'm glad I got to try it for free and I don't have to decide if I'll buy it without trying it. If I do see it though I'll seriously consider buying one. I really enjoyed it.
My fridge always has some cost effective beer (like Finestkind) and a few bottles of more special, more expensive stuff.

Big A is way underrated. Great beer.

Big A is excellent, it was my first IIPA after enjoying Harpoon Leviathan for a while (funny that now Leviathan feels way too syrupy/medicine-y for my palate). Before the market was flooded with them over the past several years, Big A was the 3rd most common IIPA at area craft bars after Leviathan and 90 minute.

I liked it a lot at Beervana, but also won't buy it at those prices. I have truckloads of Mastermind, Heady Topper and Be Hoppy anyway, and can get Foley Bros. Fair Maiden $8 a bomber at the brewery when I go to VT or Hopulence at $8 down the street.

At some point there is an incremental value consideration and brewers need to find the sweet spot. There are a ton of beers out there that aren't "worth the money" in my view.

I bought a 2009 Baltic Porter 22 oz from them for $10 I believe. This is just too much for an IPA - unless they're packaging in some kind of futuristic bottle that cost them $5+ each. This is Barrel-aged beer price for an imperial IPA.

i'm not offended like they're trying to rip anyone off. i just think the price point is too high even for a good triple IPA. make it draft only; people love smutty, it will move fast and everyone's happy.

Had no idea Jack's Abby was working on a triple IPL, sounds delicious. Anyone have any more info on it?

Are you suggesting that 16,000 bottles isn't rare?

If people don't buy it at this price, it won't happen again. If they do buy it, it's priced right. Don't buy it and hope others follow suit. Other than that the price conversation is tired, and not worth having.

Had an 8oz. pour for $6 at Worthy Burger today. I'm glad I got to try it and enjoyed the pour, but I'll be skipping out on bottles no matter if it's $8 or $10. Too many tastier options available at better price points.

If it was $16 for a 750ml no one would bat at eye. $8 for a 375ml doesn't sound bad to me

For an IIPA, there would be some eye batting. People have been batting eyes at ATG citra ass down since it showed up here. And it sits.

But you told us that debates about price weren't worth having?
