Smuttynose Imperial Stout 2008

    I was at a favorite store last night, and they had in their cooler about a half dozen Smuttynose Imperial Stouts with a sticker indicating they were from 2008. I love Smutty and I trust this store to store them properly, but there is no listing for 2008 on BA. I'm saving this for a tasting in a couple of weeks, but I'm curious if anyone has information on this year.

    Also, it's Liquor World in Porter Square. I hate to reveal a source, but this place is absolutely fantastic in terms of selection and very good in terms of price (for Boston).

    I have zero information but damn. I'd buy a couple.

    Smutty Imperial Stout is the closest thing you can get to Surly Darkness without having the original, & it ages like a champ. Sadly I have zero in the cellar right now, at the price I should be stocking up when it hits Wisconsin this winter.

    Aged Smuttynose IS is pretty fantastic. It may be a bit past peak, but I'm sure it's still probably pretty tasty.

    I'd buy it and drink it.
    Some life has been taken off (probably wouldn't cellar it too much longer) but this one ages very well in my book.

    Cannot imagine having an 08. I have been eyeing my 10 for awhile now in anticipation.

    They had about 6 bottles of this at the brewery today. It is a real thing. I was confused at first as well.
