Just got into this beer towards the end of last summer and loved it. Was looking forward to drinking this stuff all summer long so hopefully it sticks around.

I've had it from the taproom many times, as I work about 4 minutes from the brewery in Chico. It's a decent hefe in a bottle, but fresh on draught it's amazing. That slightly off, metallic flavor is gone outside the bottle. If it disappeared, I would be bummed out, mostly because it would mean one less non-hop frenzied beer from SNevada. Also it's amazing on a hot day.

Make kellerweis a summer seasonal and put summerfest in the seasonal 12 variety packs. I could live with that

I was going to buy a six-pack today but the date was about 6 months ago, bottled or packaged on date, I don't remember. I will try to find a fresher date, would like to try it before it's axed. If it's axed I hope they replace it with the Coffee Stout.

It's one of my favorite hefs. and one of the most revisted beers I pick up on a reoccurring basis. Time of year is really irrelevant to me. They can't cancel this one like the Tumbler. I could live with it if it goes to a summer only seasonal.

I've turned on many German beer fans to this accept this American offering. Hopefully that holds.

I think I've only purchased one pack of it to try it. Hefe's are alright, I'm just not a huge fan of the style. Then again, I haven't had it in a couple of years so things may have changed. Usually in the summer months I'm crushing some SN Summerfest, Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat, Founders all day IPA, DFH 60 Minute, SN Pale ale, etc.

Bummer, it's one of the best beers SN makes.

Drank a lot of Kellerweiss, when I was into Witbiers and Hefeweizens. But I haven't bought it in a long time. I've noticed that quite a few Hefeweizens are actually American Pale Wheat Ales. Bell's Oberon is an American Pale Wheat Ale and Oarsman is a Berliner Weissbier.

    Allagash White = Witbier
    Sierra Nevada Kellerweiss = Hefeweizen
Even though very similar. They are two different styles.

This. I just don't drink enough of them. Unfortunately for SN, I really took a liking this year to Victory Mad King Weiss and I'll probably be drinking that next year when I crave a hefe.

Dancing Man Wheat and Kellerweis are all I need in the summertime as far as wheat beers go.

I may have to try this one. I've been reluctant to give many SN offerings a chance, because of how often I find them to be aggressively hopped. Out of all the beers of theirs I've tried, I've liked only Narwhal and Tumbler, and they've since effectively discontinued one of those (putting it only in a variety pack that has plenty of other beer I know I don't like doesn't count as keeping it around).

Agreed. I really like Kellerweis and I think it holds it own well against those from the motherland, and is generally cheaper and fresher. So, I would be really sad to see it go. However, when the temperatures outside are in the 20's F, I'm just not buying many hefs/wheats.

Somewhat related to this idea of seasonal weather effects on sales... The company I work for has offices in California and the northeast US and there is definitely a noticeable disconnect between our employees in CA and employees in the NE US about the effects of seasonal weather on our business. CA basically has two seasons and unless you're up in the mountains temperatures rarely dip into freezing ranges and humidity is typically low...it's very moderate year round; whereas in my area (Philadelphia) we can have yearly temperatures between 10F to 100F and very humid summers. The seasons in the NE have an effect that [understandably] seems lost to some degree on some west coasters who don't experience those seasons. So, if you're listening @sierranevadabill, don't forget that a large number of your customers don't live in California's relatively mild year-round weather and it is a factor for people's beer buying habits. Bell's, a northern brewer, clearly understands this and adjusted their Oberon production/distribution accordingly.

As a Chico State grad in the 90's, I always loved Sierra Nevada Wheat. It was replaced by Kellerweis which I thought was an inferior beer. When I contacted them to ask if they will ever bring Wheat back or at least make it a seasonal beer, they replied that it was replaced because their customers had a more sophisticated palate and that is why Kellerweis was made. I totally disagreed with that assessment.

I know how you feel about the Pale Ale, but I'm surprised at the fact that you don't/won't like the Oktoberfest or the Vienna Lager.

I've never tried the Oktoberfest, and alas, their Vienna lager tripped my hop sensitivity. I got something that tasted like leaves, and that was all.

I'm hesitant on this one due to the number of reviews that mention floral and grassy character, but I should still pick up a bottle somewhere.

I feel that local breweries have come in and found that niche for the hefe's that are close or similar to kellerweis. Meaning, you can likely go to any metro area in the US and find a reputable Hefe. It does not appear SN pushes kellerweis very much as far as tap handles etc.. I like it a lot, but like many of you, I get sidetracked and it doesn't get bought as often as it should. A local hefe, A slice of hefen by La Cumbre does fill that void. I see that being drunk more than their IPAs on hot summer days

I love kellerweis and would be so sad to see it go. Hands down the best American made hefe.

I can't help but wonder if people are pouring the bottles correctly? Maybe thats why some people don't love it.

That's a bummer, man. I wouldn't recommend the Oktoberfest for you either.

If Kellerweis is moved to a seasonal status it could at least be said that almost a handful of SN's special/season offerings would not be IPA's
But seriously it would be a beer that I would hate to see retired, though I could live without during the more chilly months of the year.
