Was anything other than Parabajava kicked before GA was let in last year? It's the only one I recall not being able to try that I wanted to.

I got to try that but did not seek it out as a first stop so I think it stuck around for a bit. It was good, but Old Raspy XV stole the show and basically ruined all of the other stouts for me that day.

Uncle Jacob was around for a whillleeee, I was pouring it and people came up, looked at the number of tickets necessary, and turned right back around.

I'm hopeful that BA Abraxas will make it to the beginning of the GA session for two reasons.

    1. Nobody but BAs will even know what the beer is or how people go bat-shit crazy for it. With so many booths/beers, the number of people who "stumble" upon it is reduced.
    2. Parabajava was the only beer not to make it to GA last year, but this was a one-off beer. I'm optimistic that Perennial would be a little more prepared and bring a larger quantity of their rotating beer than FW did of their one-off.

If not, so be it, but a guy can hope.

If it's just a sixtel they'll get about 100-110 pours out of it pending foaming and what might disappear beforehand. As much as I'd like it to last I just don't think it will; plus I could see plenty of people in our community getting back in line and mainlining it until it's gone.

I don't know the scene... but sounds like you gotta take the risk! :-)

I hear you brother! Gonna be pricey... but living in a tent down by the river really isn't all that bad! :grinning:

I was looking through the list with a friend yesterday, I really think some of the pours are $10 to try and discourage some people from merely camping out for multiple pours of something rare. Yes the promoters make more money, but at $10 for a six ounce pour of Cantillon, the odds are most people would sample it at most once leading to higher number of people getting the opportunity...

Yeah, can't blame you there. Your knowledge and expertise will be missed.

I bet that Fou Foune will kick way faster than both BA Abraxas, and BA Sump. That tent is going to have a hell of a mass of ppl considering that all these three beers are at the same tent. Im sure there will be plenty of great beer to go around. Its pricey so it should deter some ppl along with the rain forecast. I just dont want it to be a crowded shit show.

I really want to try the Prairie Hop.

DC Brau's BA Exaltation should be a must-seek for BAs as well.

Are there any "under the radar" beers that people are looking forward to?

I'm sure most people are familiar with the big hitters like Fou, BA Abraxas, etc.

For whatever reason, Blue Mountain Barrel-aged sour cherry weizenbock jumps out at me as a "must try". It was on the list as they were announcing the beers, but I didn't see it on the final location map.

I'm also going to be sure to seek out the mango chili west coast ipa, and the Port City porter w/ ginger and orange peel.

It's too bad Adroit Theory was not invited this year. A fest like this could easily put them on the radar of BAs across the country.

To keep the cost down my and 2 of my friends are going to split some of the pours that we want to try. There are a few that I will be enjoying the whole 6oz myself.

I understand why they don't allow bottles in but was hopping to try and set up an IP trade or 2. With riding the metro in I will not have anywhere to keep them.

Same with CR. I feel bad for the non-VIP. It seems like the VIP crowd is larger than last year.

I feel bad for anyone who bought hundreds of tickets, I'm trying to spend mine and get out of here. Great beers though.
