Well that went incredibly well. Got myself and the cohort to the Yards by 1030. Stamped and IDed people leading up to 1130. Once the gates opened my group spread out and grabbed their assigned beers. Within 10 minutes we'd secured CBS, BA Abraxas, Fou Foune, Ghoulship, Krieky Bones, and Miami Madness. Then just spent the rest of the time grabbing random stuff that sounded interesting. Just about the best the day could have possibly played out.

Got kind of held up with Metro, so my group decided to hell with the line for CBS (got there at 11:35) and got practically everything we wanted. There was no lines for Blackout Stout, KBS, Bomb!, Reserve Wake and Bake, Mexican Radio etc. We got all the beers we wanted plus way too many more. The point is we gave up the quest for "the holy grails" and instead had a blast drinking beers we can't get at our local bottle shops.

That's the way to go, CBS isn't that great anyway.

That was my thoughts on KBS despite the hype. I liked it, but it didn't blow my socks off like some of the lesser known beers pouring at the event.

I thought this years Snallygaster was incredibly well run compared to the last few years. They handled the opening much better than last year. Was able to split my group and get pours of everything we wanted. And no lines for many good beers well into the event. I guess it just took them a few tries to get it right?

Tend to agree. Hand stamping on the way in. No bum rushing for what I saw. Security check, ticket scan then mug and tickets grab. Was very happy with 2016 Snallygaster.

I cannot speak to past years, but I was a little worried based on all I had heard. I just went into with the mindset that I was going to try some amazing beers, if not the top few. That being said, I thought everything went incredibly smooth. I went with two other people and we were about 100th in line. We ended up with BA Abraxas, CBS, Ghoulschip. I met lots of nice people, and a lot of reps who made it their number one priority to enhance the experience with positivity and appreciation.

Big shout out to Wicked Weed. I kicked Juiceless with about 1 oz that settled to 2, and they hooked me up with a complimentary Framboos Norte.

    Will be back next year.
