Look, in America we don't use liters. Seriously. Most places price the smaller bottles the same as 12 oz bottles. That's why it irks me.
No we don't. Beer labels specifically ask you not to, and then are even polite enough to thank you in advance.
I've never seen that on German or French beer containers, it must be an English thing. In France "industrial" beers are mostly sold in "aperitf format" which is 25 cl, smaller breweries mostly use 375 cl, and some beers are sold in 750 cl bottles. In the Alsace, along the German border I see 50 cl bottles as well. But I've never seen the alcohol units listed.
I've never seen that on German labels. I just checked the Munchen Lowenbrau bottle I emptied last night, there's nothing on the label, Nor on the French beer, Ch'ti I drank yesterday.
