    The real tragedy here.

That still sounds like a case of "not very good" instead of "something wrong, off flavors". I don't think Bruery should be expected to respond publicly about that. Lots of breweries are majority 4.0 and below on untappd and nobody asks them to apologize for their beer.

So are you telling me off shoot is worth the price or even good? If so we will respectfully disagree. Also most of those breweries don’t charge $20 a four pack.

I’ve yet to see any positive reviews, except for the highland park collaboration. The “positive” reviews are that the beer isn’t that bad, which isn’t a good thing.
my point is that none of those breweries receive the bad reviews because they put out some decent beers, they have misses like offshoot has hits.

I emailed Offshoot about “I know you are”/“But what am I?”. I told them they were incredibly phenolic, undrinkable, and honestly two of the worst beers I have ever tasted. The beers clearly have an off flavor issue and it isn’t subtle. It is overpowering. I offered to send them some cans to taste for themselves.

They told me that all their beers go through QC, they had dumped previous beers due to them not being up to par, and that their lab and production team didn’t detect any issues with these two beers. Rather than refund my money, they offered a discount on the next releases.

There are clearly major flaws in both their brewing and QC methods. The product just isn’t consistent. These are my hazy beers:

Totally agree that both of these beers were terrible. Total off flavors all around. I'm glad you said something to them. I truly question their QC at this point.

had a spiced pear that was crowlered over a month before and it tasted even better.

the darker color you got could have been more concentrated fruit, or the bottom of the keg.

I've got a bad crowler from the bruery before.
This was at the og tasting room.
I ordered 3 crowlers when I was up there a couple of weeks ago.
Got two offshoot ipas and 1 wc winter warmer(fuck that was soo good)
I watched the first guy pour the first beer in the crowler, go grab another can to fill and puts a top on the second beer in the can, then another guy helps pour the third beer into the can and adds the top. The first guy puts the second beer into the crowler machine then finally puts a top on the first beer and then proceeds to can the other beers.
The first beer had been sitting out without a top for about 45 seconds or so. I knew it was one of the offshoot ipas that was left un-topped.
I drank the 3 crowlers in the next few days and sure enough one of the crowlers was bad, oxidize and dark. I thought the beertender gave me the wrong beer in the crowler then I realized what had happened.
@BruerJoel @PMR I know that this is a fairly new machine for the bruery. Maybe more training or a follow up?
Sounds like the op had the same thing happened to his crowler too.
Just wanted to share my experience with the crowlers from the bruery.

Since we are on the topic of crowlers.... I don't care if your Bestie McBestie is working behind the bar or u think that the volume of beer you buy entitles you to the next tier above Hoarders Society....

Get in line like everybody else and wait until its your turn to order crowlers.

I hate seeing people bypass the line to shout out their crowler order to the bar staff. Staff diverts their attention to an order of 92 bruecicle crowlers, and the elitist casually strolls back to their table to sip on their full glass of beer. Not very considerate to the rest of us.

Offshoot not only taste terrible, but they label their beers as “hazy” right on the can, yet the end product looks like coors light. It’s funny that they haven’t responded to this thread. It really shows, at least on this forum, how much they stand besides their subpar, overpriced, product.

When modern times released folding ships, which they initially advertised as hazy, once they realized the final product was not hazy at all, they released an explanation as to why. Hazy or not, at least the beer tasted good, can’t say the same for offshoot.
