Amazing city! People are so friendly and awesome. My favorite beer was the Coast Hopart. We visited:

    Blind Tiger
    Charleston Beer Works
    Shady Oak
    The Griffon
    Holy City
    Freehouse

Sadly, we missed a few places we wanted to hit. Coast was closed. Revelry just didn't fit in (dammit!)

My favorite stop was Holy City. Amazing beers. Just wish they had some cans available of the Yeast Wrangler (which was epic - up there at the top of my fav double IPA's). Hung out with some of the employees and they were just so personable and although I think they were on a break, they were more than willing to talk beers with us. Very cool.

Cool trip. Hope to go back soon!

We're going for our anniversary in Oct. We love Charleston, it's better and more fun than New Orleans without the drunks hassles and crime. And it's a very easy drive. Lots of great resturauants too.

As a native New Yorker now living in the South, I had put off going to Charleston for a long time, thinking it was old South and stuffy manners. Well, we went this year and loved it. Friendly, welcoming people, amazing food and beer, great downtown. Can't wait to go back!

I thought about coming here to say the same thing. We spent the last week of July staying on Folly Beach, and going into Charleston/North Charleston/Mount Pleasant. Met so many great people.

    We hit:
Breweries - Revelry, Holy City, Westbrook, COAST, Freehouse, Frothy Beard, Tradesman
Restaurants - Edmund's Oast, EVO Pizza, Coleman Public House, Poogan's Porch, Hall's Chophouse, Bohemian Bull
Also hit the Charleston Beer Exchange to pick up some stuff.

I, much like the OP, would have loved cans of Yeast Wrangler from Holy City. So damn good. And COAST was out of Boy King. But other than that, got to try so much amazing beer and food, all while meeting lots of great people. What a city!

2nd Poogans Porch Shrimp and Grits. You gotta hit the Gin Joint, it's small, it's crowded, sometimes a wait, but any drink is professionally made.

I haven't made it to Charleston yet, however my wife and I have talked about it. This post might just put that at the top of the list for 2016. Cheers.

Charleston is a wonderful city. It is impossible to not absorb the pure history of the place. Beer aside, it is amazing...but with the new beer scene it is even better. I need to go back soon! Glad you had a nice time.

Charleston is a wonderful city, it was like a blend of Savannah and Boston. The beer scene is awesome, Westbrook was really suave and on the rise but I really enjoyed the city itself and what it had to offer. We drove from Orlando at 6am and we returned early morning, around 3am and we were able to eat in Savannah and spend the entire day in Charleston. Quick and easy trip. Highly recommended!

You did it right, hit 2 breweries I will likely never pop in to, but the rest of your stops are on my regular rotation...
