I put up an ISO for some and got crickets- yes I understand that indicates something is lacking on my part- but what does it take to land them these days? I've taken a trade hiatus for the last year or so, so I guess I'm no longer hip to what the kids want for their Thomas Hardy's.

    I appreciate your feedback!

Really hard to say. It's a retired beer from a defunct brewery with the beer being between 15 and 46 years old. Any particular year you were looking for?

I've drunk the last of my Eldridge Pope ones in the last week or two.

I'd assume it would take something really limited. I've been offered a Rare in the past (1986), and traded one for a DDG (1978).

Ya I figure these things are only going to be fewer and further between, but I figure it is worth a shot to see if there is anyone out there who has them and has found they don't like the taste of them. For those folks, I have tasty beers that I don't want anymore, as I can't do gluten anymore and beer tends to wreck my stomach. But Thomas Hardy's has gluten?.... Yes, but I figure that if I'm going to ruin the next day for myself, I would prefer to do it with a nicely aged English barleywine.

I'll put up another ISO in a few weeks once I get some better ammo I suppose, hopefully the right person catches it.

I'm trading a 50N or Hommage (his pick) for an '85 + snifter.

Wow that is quite a hefty price!

It's also a 29-year old bottle, got done very quickly, and he's tossing in a snifter (not the easiest glass to come by). For me that was worth it.

True, but it is also a 29 y/o bottle of a beer that few palettes enjoy- I remember one tasting where someone compared it to SA Triple Bock, and his friend said it tasted like moldy raisins (I happen to like triple bock). To each their own i guess, I suppose I'm just hoping to find the aforementioned palette that wants to get rid of theirs for something else.

Do you suppose volume would work in this as well? Supposing a few vintages for a full styro shipper? I only ask as I'm not looking to get back into the collecting/hoarding game, so I can amass enough brewery releases to get TH. Or maybe I should just give up....

Honestly, I'd just keep your eyes open and buy one on one of "those sites" when the vintage you want pops up. They aren't cheap, but they aren't exorbitant either.

I have a few of them, and it would take limited beers or wilds/sours for me to get off of them.
