Usually smells like pine is a common adjective. I have never personally eaten pine, smelled too much pine sol maybe?

New to the IPA realm.. I'm currently going through the DIPA-IPA phase of my life (I still have 2000 to go). Last week, I had a Duclaw - Never Tell Me The Odds DIPA. Wow, it was piney, but NOT piney, maybe sappy? I couldn't put my finger on what the aroma/taste was, so I just considered it the piney side. Since I am still trying to find my way through all these flavor spectrums, I figured I'll just get another NTMTO, and hopefully a different day will help.

Today, I was researching here on BA and found a link on a previously closed post about infected beer. In the post, SpaceRanger (thanks SR) posted this link: https://www.bjcp.org/docs/OffFlavorFlash.pdf. Scrolling through the info, "Fresh Cut Grass" jumped out at me. That's what the missing flavor for NTMTO was. Yes, I read similar descriptions in this very thread, but it never dawned on me.. so I was happy to find that, as it made me feel closer to having a clue.
