Yeah, if you can find fresh bottles of it. Unfortunately, it tends to sit around here. No way I'm paying $14/4-pack for a DIPA bottled in Aug/Sep. I do like it and would probably drink it more often if it wasn't always so old.

I just got back from my local Armanettis to see if by chance they had HS yet. They don't so I picked up Brother Benjamin. It was bottled 1 month ago and was in the cooler. Reviews are very mixed on this beer (it's a barleywine, medicine taste, no honey flavor) so I am really interested to try it.

When I checked out and asked the guy about HS he said he wasn't sure when it is coming yet, but what I was buying was just as good. He said a customer turned him onto it last year and he's been telling people about it.

Yeah, I think Brother Benjamin is too much like a barleywine. Too heavy and malty, not hoppy enough. That's just me.

Chillwave uses honey too, although I find the honey a bit more subtle than in Hopslam. Really good brew, my favorite by Great Lakes. Comes out in 2-3 months.

if i'm not mistaken, chillwave uses honey malt. not raw honey.

I wouldn't panic. For whatever reason there is always a mad dash to raid stores of their initial delivery, but after that it calms down from what I've seen over the past few years. Combine that with the fact that it sounds like production was increased susbtantially this year (Larry Bell seems like a reliable source), and I'm sure you won't have any trouble getting your hands on plenty.

Only Child.....Double Dog Dare is a double IPA that has honey, I've only drank one but thought it was very good and will be picking some up eventually, comes in 4 pack 16 oz cans. They have a tasting room in Gurnee.

No need to imagine... Speaking from experience, it's extremely painful when you're the unfortunate bastard trapped under the mess. Had one of those end caps collapse on me a few months ago while repairing flooring in a Family Fare store...2000lbs of yams, corn, etc... crashing down on me. Took about 2 weeks to get the feeling back in my right forearm.

Now if that end cap of Hopslam came crashing down on me, you better believe I'd be consuming at least one or 2 to ease the pain :grinning:.

Back on topic though, is this sitting around Grand Rapids still? Haven't made it down to Bells yet and would still like a 6er of it.

    Cheers!

Steve's in Madison, WI has stated that Hopslam will be here Monday afternoon and there will be plenty, including mini-kegs. It seems that almost every store in town gets their stuff the same days, so it'll probably be everywhere in Madison early next week.

Sorry guys. I tried to pull one of the bottom cases and it collapsed like jenga. If you still want some dented cans most of what is pictured was still there in the past hour.

I can't blame you - they put the freshest cases on the bottom.
