No brewing, bottling a saison and trying to figure out what I want to brew next. Just did an ESB with 3725, might go for an BIPA with 3711. Really envying all of y'all with temp control; as much as I love Belgians, using yeasts with high temp tolerances for 4 or 5 months of the year is for the birds.

I brewed a smash on Tuesday. 2 row and nugget, with a very small portion of the hops being home grown.

Thanks man, Everything actually went quite well. Noob move, had a little boil over. But everything's in the fermentor and looks delicious. (fingers crossed)

Tomorrow morning I'll be brewing a hoppy saison (slightly modified). It'll be the first batch I'm kegging, and with luck, by the end of the month it'll break in my shiny new kegerator

Oh I wish! Probably not until Labor Day will I brew up a new batch. That will be an American Pale Ale, to be followed by and American IPA and then an American Brown, all using the same yeast (1056) in succession. It will be the first time I use the brewing kettle with the newly installed valve and kettle screen.

This weekend is the Beehive Brewoff, the 4th annual major (perhaps only?) homebrewing contest here in Utah. First time I have entered (6 beers). I don't really expect much out of it except some feedback. I do plan to be at the awards ceremony tomorrow evening. Should be fun to be in a room with a bunch of other homebrewers!

As is typical for me, I think I'll be brewing during the traditional work week rather than the weekend. I have a biere de garde type of brew planned. Possibly will brew on Mon. or Tues.

Yeast fuct me. I had a starter going earlier in the week. I had been watching for overflow, but sometime during the night it blew.
Counted it up today and I barely have enough to brew 5 gallons of an OG48 beer let alone 10 gallons of tripel .
I think I will just sulk and drink instead.

I'll be brewing a Holiday Saison recipe kit from NB this weekend. Man I love brewing saisons, no changing ice packs!
Might squeeze in an IPA kit too but probably will be the weekend after.

I know it's not the 3rd weekend anymore, but I'm getting my fall batches started.
The air in the house is filled with the aroma of a wort for a gingerbread brown ale, my second batch of this, slightly tweaked this time. Today or tomorrow depending on time, I'll be taking a shot at a dark rye IPA. Giggity

Brewed 11 gallons of "American Farmhouse" (White Labs via Lost Abbey strain) on Sunday; half with Euro hops and half with American hops. First time I've had 6 carboys filled in sometime though 2 are long term sours.
