It's very rare that I have a single beer more than once in a night...but, when I do, it's a great one!

There's a few factors that come into play...first off, what do they have on tap? Second, what season is it? And lastly, what am I in the mood to drink? If the selection is just mediocre, I'll trying to find a beer that I know I like and I'll probably stick to that? If we're at the bar in the summer with 100° temps, I tend to stick to IPA's or session beers. If its Winter in the colder months, I like to drink Quads, Barlywines and Imperial Stouts. At the end, it boils down to what you want to drink...

Went to a brew pub tonight and had four different beers. I think the last time I ordered the same beer twice in the same place was last year when there was a cask of Batch 1 Life and Limb at DFH. Otherwise, I get samplers, short pours, or split pints so I can try as many as possible.

Not About your point, you said you never drink the same beer the whole time but said you had three of the same beer tonight, sounds like you liked it. Anywho...I like to dabble. Sometimes I dibble...

I found a beer I liked enough to have 3-4x. I was inquiring about similar experiences and similar normal behaviors at bars. I apologize for stimulating conversation.

Depends on the bar and if there is an event. If a really solid beer is on tap that i cant usually get i might indulge in a few, but usually i like to try different beers.

For me to drink multiple pours of the same beer it would either have to be amazing or the bar would have to have a really bad taplist.

I am all about flights/tasters/half pints. Trying new beers is my jam.

I jump around here or there. Unless I find out they just got a fresh keg of Pliny the Elder or anything from Alpine. Gotta drink those fresh hops as quick as can be.

If it's something on the cheaper side and I'm not in the mood to pay a lot of attention, I'll get multiples. But usually, I'll go for variety.

When I do go out I only have one or two beers, and usually it's a special release or something I haven't tried. If they have a few or more beers I haven't tried, I'll try the two that sound the most interesting.

This time of year at Keegan I stick to Super Kitty. Other times of year, and at other pubs, I like to play the field.

No, probably one of those and an Isabelle. Isabelle is still one of the most exquisite beers of all time.

But to the OP, I see both sides. if there is a ridiculously good beer, I can see having a couple of those. I think for me it depends on whether I have had all of the offerings before. If I have, I may stick to one favorite. If there are 20 beers I have not had, I may surf BA to help me determine which ones and in what order I should try.

I always jump around and try to have as many different beers a possible. Especially if I've never had them before. When I was at Tighthead Brewery for the first time a few weeks ago I tried every beer they make. They were all great, what a great new brewery.
