Re bottling, Isn't there a notch for the month on one side edge of the label label?

 

Not accusing... just a possibility - if your dishwasher left one of your glasses soapy, it might have left all of them soapy, so therefore switching glasses doesn't necessarily fix the problem. Can you tell us more about the glass situation?

Maybe its just your taste if not the perhaps the type of soao you use and or a washer?

 

Most will disagree with me but I find Freshed Squeeze a little soapy. I've had it multiple times and it had that same quality.

 

The soapy taste is probably coming from too much spice in the beer. As I recall, that is a spiced beer.

 

I had it once from SNPA, but just the one time.

 

I think the SA Winter Lager is excellent this year...

Drinking from the bottle or into a glass? If a glass, perhaps not rinsed enough?

 

...or all the herbs, fruits and spices that BBC dumps into some of their beers, that should be saved for use in grandma's potpourri or urinal cakes.

 

Over fermentation can cause soapy flavors.

 

I had a celebration IPA from Sierra Nevada I thought was soapy. I read that possibly fresh hopped may have that effect?

 

FWIW I had a bottle of Sam Adams Winter Lager when visiting family during the Thanksgiving holiday. I did not perceive any soapy flavors in that beer and IMO the spicing level was subtle.

I dont... I get some soapy flavors from many Deschutes brews .. However i dont get it from Fresh Squeezed , this i s the one brew i buy the most.

 

After reading the thread title I thought you were going to complain about White Christmas.
