And their name is Mighty Squirrel not Modest Mouse, what did you expect? Their god complex is right in the name

It's not that black and white in my opinion.

For example, there's a six foot distancing rule. Makes sense, we all know the science behind that. But what if you were at the grocery store and someone was going around with a measuring tape and measuring the distance between each customer in line. And you're 5.5 feet from the person in front of you and they ask you to step back.

Think my scenario is ridiculous? At Fenway this year the ushers are going to have six foot poles to gently tap you on the shoulder to remind you to put your mask back on if you haven't been eating or drinking for three minutes. This is when you're appropriately distanced and OUTSIDE.

If I get pulled over for doing 56 on the highway in a 55, I'm probably not going to be happy about it. Does it make any difference regarding the safety of others? Of course not. But technically it's the rule.

Unfortunately, most Americans have no concept of nuance; it's all-or-nothing. So half the country expects you to wear a mask while walking down an empty street and half the country has packed bars with no masks. If everybody were able to logically understand when/where different rules are necessary this would have both ended earlier and been more bearable in the meantime.

    Agreed.

And I think I said this already, but just for the record, I'm more cautious than most and I'm all for following Covid rules.

And I get both sides of it, I really do. But as you said, by the letter of the law I need to wear a mask (still) at all times when outside in MA. Unless I'm sitting at a restaurant eating/drinking.

But it's not helping anyone if I'm in the middle of a field by myself wearing a mask.

Anyways, back to the OP...here's what I compiled for the list of places people mentioned that had mostly or all contactless biergartens.

    • Lost Shoe
    • Riverwalk
    • Aeronaut
    • Nightshift Everett
    • Notch
    • Wachusett
    • Mighty Squirrel

Man, this thread is growing tiresome. I am with @SunDevilBeer on this one. This site is supposed to a be place to share and advocate for beer. Being cut off for no reason other than an adherence to a dumb rule without the need to adhere to that rule is... well dumb. I had a 90 minute rule catch me at Trillium over the summer and that was fine, as there were folks waiting. No complaints- capacity issue. When that is not the case, well heck, let's make reasonable adult decisions- the world is depending on it. Now, if @SunDevilBeer wore out his welcome period, well that is another story!@%, but I will make sure to yell out Sun Devil on every timed reservation I have over the summer in case he is being shut off and needing to join a table.
